The X/Y Legendary events that occurred in Japan awhile back have thankfully reached North America: Zygarde, shiny Xerneas, and shiny Yveltal will be distributed throughout the month of May in waves via Mystery Gift

Yveltal: May 20th 2016 - May 26th 2016

I believe the way it works is the register generates/pulls a code from the system and prints it on your receipt, so you shouldn't have to worry about them running out, especially since the event just started yesterday
