You have to do the encounters, the battle doesn't even technically start before it flees

And then I got a 5IV Bold Japanese Duskull with 3 egg moves from another non-Japanese player asking for an English Duskull on the GTS

I've also just finished breeding Drifloons so if anyone wants one before I send them off let me know, I'll keep a few around for the rest of the day


So as you may have noticed I've gone full throttle back into breeding and while doing a bit of research I discovered that Bulbapedia claims that as of Generation 6, the standard shiny rate has in fact been doubled to 1/4096 due to the value the formula outputs only needing to be less than 16 rather than less than 8 (the Friend Safari has an even higher rate as expected but the exact number is unknown), and consequentially the effectiveness of the Masuda Method combined with the Shiny Charm now reaches an astounding 1/512

That explains a lot

Well people used to just hack them in so it's really not too much different

but it still takes away from the feeling of finding a shiny

instead of "forget YEAH A SHINY" now its like

"oh, a shiny. cool."

I still get super stoked when I get one

I mean the majority of my shinies come from breeding so I guess it just feels like a bigger victory, plus I had to do a lot of work to get the Shiny Charm for the rate to be so high in the first place

Who actually uses Audino aside from free EXP points early on (that greatly diminish as the game progresses)

Have you ever found a shiny in XY? I guarantee you it isn't like that at all. Even though the chances were made twice as high, they're still extremely rare. You seem to think it's some sort of no-effort-required thing but it really isn't.
