I feel necessary to go on a rant here so if you don't feel like reading you may leave.
On Sunday me and a few of my friends, John, Jake, and Nick, were driving around bored. We decided to go to Target to waste some time. Once we went inside me and Jake went one way and John and Nick went the other. About 20 minutes of people there we get a text from John saying to come to them right now. When me and Jake got there we found this weird little 8th grade kid following them around everywhere, spewing out insults.
This is probably the weirdest looking little kid I've seen in awhile. He was throwing out insults in every sentence despite the fact none of us knew him or did anything to provoke him. John kept saying multiple times "Will you stop loving following us?" The kid responded "No douche bags I'll follow you if I want!" John turned to us and said "This kid is going to get his ass kicked soon" and apparently the kid heard him, said "Lets loving go then", and actually punched John in the ear. John quickly put the kid in a headlock to restrain him. He didn't punch the kid back because that would probably flat out knock him out. The kid then yelled so John let him go saying "Now get the forget away from us."
During this whole conflict me and Jake walked away knowing we were alot older then this stupid little kid and we should not get involved. Nobody was around to see the incident so we decided it all would end there and we wouldn't hear from it again. Regardless we decided to leave. The next day Jake wanted to buy something and Target so me and him went there to check it out, thinking nothing of what happened the previous day. We walked in, went to the audio section of the store, and about 10 minutes there we were approached by a security guard. He told us "Okay guys, the deal is we've ID'd you as part of an incident which occurred the other day so at this point I'm gonna ask you to leave the store." We were then escorted out.
Angry by the fact that me and Jake did nothing but were still kicked out, I contacted Target's top manager. I explained my story to him and he responded "We have to ban all parties involved in an incident, we treat everyone equally according to store policy." So apparently that means if you come to a store with friends and some kid decides to pick a fight with one of them, you get banned for knowing them. The manager even said in the security tapes he saw me and Jake did nothing. So he pretty much said the equivalent of "You guys did nothing wrong, but were going to ban you anyway."
The manager also said if we wouldn't have left and stuck around to tell our story this probably wouldn't have happened. I would have had no problem with sticking around except I didn't know it would spiral into all this stuff. I guess its also okay for overly aggressive 8th graders to run around unsupervised and pick fights with strangers. I plan on contacting someone higher up about how we were unfairly banned from the store simply to be a pain in the ass.
Target. Is. Moronic.
Really needed to rant that story.
