Should I consider secondary developers?

No, retain the purity. One man, one mod, ein reich!
Yes.

So pretty much the only people who get to use this are the people that help code it r whoever they think is worthy of it.

This seems pretty elitist.

What the forget is with you and complaining about people not releasing large mods like this?

Glad to see this is back on track. With the new weapon and criminal system, this probably will be more of a actual RPG than a sophisticated deathmatch.

are you stupid? I'm not even going to argue with this

I'm sorry, It just doesn't seem right to say "Here is what I'm making, here are all the features, here are some of the things I'm going to add to it but you can't have it."

I'm sure there's a good reason for this though, please enlighten me.

If he was flaunting it in everyone's face and not allowing anyone to ever play it - that would be one thing. As for private mods, there are many of them that no one ever gets because the creator chooses not to release them. Reasons could be anything like abuse, small and not really useful, and so on.

He doesn't have to release it, and he probably shouldn't release it. The last time CityRP/G was given out, practically every server became one. It not only killed the fun of the mod, but it killed most of the fun servers.

He doesn't release it because idiots like you would ruin the mod.

Ruin it eh?

Ruin it eh?
what.
First of all you have not a clue how to run it - and Im almost sure it's more than just opening the mod up on a special map.
Second of all it would be over used and become not special at all
Third of all keeping it to his server makes people come to his server since it's the only place to play it - that way he gets more players on his server.

Ruin it eh?

Would you rather have it hosted by someone who knows everything about the mod, knows how it works, so they can set the city up perfectly and everything goes great?

Or have a bunch of handicaps hosting it, with crappy servers, and no one even plays it because they are busy hosting it themselves?

okay. Most mods come with instructions anyway.

Self-defeating. If number one was true then noobs would not be able to run it.

That's a good thing?

The bad servers would die out in less then a week.

It doesn't matter.

The reason I don't release my CityRPG edition is because I want my individual CityRPG to get more players then the CityRPGs with less additions.

simple mathematics.

The bad servers would die out in less then a week.

Doesn't matter, people would be sick of it. Wether it's the host, or the people who joined the bad servers, the mod would become redundant.

All I see here is you whining that you can't have something you want.

okay. Most mods come with instructions anyway.

Last time I checked, private Mods do not come with instructions.

Stop whining and if you want to play cityrpg, then play it on Ibans server. Or, don't play it at all. Simple.

1 - okay. Most mods come with instructions anyway.
2 - Self-defeating. If number one was true then noobs would not be able to run it.
3 - That's a good thing?

1 - You wouldn't get instructions
2 - Their friends would figure it out for them
3 - Yes, for him it is, and I can tell you this much he can care so much lesse about what you think of it.

Hes not going to release it, so stop whining. Every argument you have gets turned down with a reasonable explanation
Yeah - we want it, but atleast we can handle the fact that we know we're not going to get it.

This is more like a service than a product. You don't take home a star chef from a 5 star restaurant, unless the chef happens to be your spouse, relative or whatever, but you enjoy the service provided by the restaurant, which is a fine meal cooked by the star chef.

Think of this thread as a way of offering critique on how to run things or tracking progress before the grand opening.

Okay, fine, I'm sorry for throwing a mini-fit in this topic.

I am still ticked off about this whole thing, but I'm not going to bring it up anymore. This looks like a fantastic mod and I look forward to playing this on your server.

I noticed a problem though.

Being assassinated. Political Assassinations are the most heinous of crimes, as they eliminate a person put into position by the people themselves. Because the punishment of assassination is so high (life in prison without possibility of parole), it's unlikely anyone will ever want to kill the Mayor. However, if taxes are too high and you pardon too many prisoners, someone might just be tempted.

Optimism much? You're assuming that people won't kill people for no reason.

Mayors will not own the Mayoral Building. I'll give them a small office in Town Hall with a Mayor Job Spawn with a door only accessible by Mayors / Bureaucrats / Law Enforcement.

Well, I guess if they like losing their current progress and being banned until the next election they're free to. The Mayor will have some protection to keep him from being a big juicy bragging right.
