Should I consider secondary developers?

No, retain the purity. One man, one mod, ein reich!
Yes.

I have a suggestion for the betatesting period of CityRPG.

Make a window pop up every 3 hours for each person on the server reminding them to submit bug reports because otherwise a lot of people will just ignore issues.
There is a button on the stats GUI specifically for reporting bugs that has been there since the start of beta.

Because cities are mainly grid based, and because I build my roads and government buildings on baseplates, we could replace those baseplates with city lots, which would function with ownership under the city.

The only person who is capable of editing the "city" would be the mayor.

This way, we could designate specific buildings as in-destructable, and others as editable upon the mayor's request.

Any brick destroyed on the city lot would go directly into the treasury again, so mayors could demolish the terrible dictator statue of the previous mayor, and regain the city's lost dollars.

If this system does manage to sprout correctly, we'd want to begin the city with basic infrastructure.

Easy stuff, really. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Basically provides all of the features that Sim City presents.

Yeah. I can make lots that give mayors automatic Trust Level 2, and all of CityRPG's bricks elsewhere will be Trust Level 1. I'm planning on not having elevated roads, so I can make a 'Street Brick' that automatically changes based on what street bricks are touching it. That way, mayors can even expand the town's borders as they please.

forget me. I spend all this effort to add on to a block building game and I totally neglect the block building aspect of it.

If that's the case, then I don't have to worry about infrastructure! :)

Mr.Wallet did the same thing for his PresidentRP, and it was a blast. So yeah, I approve.

The, "Street Bricks" will be independent from any other bricks a past mayor has placed, so that the new mayor can't demolish streets and leave buildings stranded in empty space permanently, right?

Also the fact that you can't elevate roads is a huge creativity handicap. Is there no other way of making that work?

No, you do need to worry about it. I'm not going to lay down three baseplates and be like "GL FGTS". I need something there. lol

I've already established that old mayor's bricks are apart of BrickGroup_999999 and the Infrastructure bricks are apart of BrickGroup_2200, just stop loving nitpicking stupid stuff like this you're always wrong.

I hate elevated roads with a bloody passion.

You must hate basements too :/

Well, if it's going to be the default roads, then designing a city would be a matter of minutes for me.

I'm used to creating highways, one way roads, avenues, and fancy things ^^

I've created buildings on Blockland for 3 years, and I've always hated basements. They're useless.

Default city will just be a 9x9 grid of 64x holes with the center being the infrastructure buildings. My SimCity cities were always boring.

Okay! I really like the idea of having future mayors develop the city anyway.

I hate SimCity.
OT:
I guess I'm going to be on the shady side of town when beta starts again.

But if somebody builds a 16x16 lot, it throws it all off.

See: "Wha" in the diagram.

It's where nobody will build. Yes I know the resolution is off because I didn't crop.

Poll added regarding the 16x16 and 16x32 lots.

Tough question... The 16x16 and 16x32 lots are good for beginner market stalls, and shack houses.
But I also cant stand those gaps in grid cities.

vote yes.

16x16 lots gave my baby autism.
