So, I just spent 30 minutes as a fire-mage dodging in a forest, shooting firebolts at a big boss Orc Warrior woman.

Finally defeat her, after my low-level weapons slowly get to her.

I recieve 10 xp.
This just felt... really really low... for the amount of work I did. There was a lot of dodging and maneuvering, especially as she casts one of those spells that makes an area of ground dangerous to stand in, and she summons Human Fire-Mages (who did the most damage to me).

In that time I probably could've gotten atleast twice, if not three times as much Xp from just killing non-boss regular enemies.
It makes it very slow to level up. I'm only level 3.

Oh well. I got 1 Ice Spirit cube and a few pieces of silver.

Experience seems to be a problem. It just seems to be too low for all the monsters.

I was about to post this, it really does. Although bosses of areas (like ones you get quests for) give a good amount IMO.

i got 23 exp from a boss as a level 2 but then after fighting through an entire palace and fighting a harder boss i only got 10 exp
but a ton of loot

Yes, most definitely.

Pretty much any enemy, no matter how difficult they actually are to face, will generally only give 1 XP, with a rare chance of 2 XP if they happen to be Blue-Labelled enemies.

Orange enemies can give 3-5 XP, but are obviously more difficult.

I'm not sure on Red Enemies, since I've only defeated one with the help of a wandering adventurer (which was really lucky, seeing as how most other times Red Enemies will just destroy whole parties of wanderers).

And if a Blue Boss only gave 10 XP, it's a bit rubbish.

Either enemies need to provide more XP, or the XP requirement for levelling up needs to be reduced.

most bosses I've killed so far have all given me 92-93 XP at a time.

If you have the Leaf Runner, I'll trade almost anything for it, even the warrior pads I got from a troll.
I have a Plain Runner.

I defeated a boss with a couple other players in a server. It instantly leveled me up from 4 to 6, I don't see the problem...

Not close enough, I'll still reserve the pads for you if you want.

To what extent does modifying your weapons improve them?

I don't really know if it betters them, and if it does, if I happen to need a lot of new cubes to add on.

I know the Spirit cubes give bonuses, but what about sticking Iron or Wood on weapons?
Also, how come the Iron and Wood cubes do not look the same colour as Iron/Wood weapons? It's quite annoying.

Aaaand, what can I do with Emerald Chunks? I have a lot of them. Seem to nearly find them in caves more often than Iron.

All Iron cubes and wood cubes do is up the damage value on your weapon. It can be seen by checking the before and after stats when you place on cubes. (the limit of how much you can place varies on weapon to weapon. Some weapons can have 32 blocks placed on it at a time.)

Also theres a wiki thats actually quite reliable out there if you need to reference it.

As for the color I don't know. I have a spirit ice-cube which slows enemy movement and attack rate. So thats kind of noticeable on my part.

I keep getting all these spirit cubes that i cant put on my +45 weapons because theyre all below 30 or something.

How the heck am i supposed to put them on there if i dont get any that work?????

For some reason spirit cubes will only go on certain weapons. I've found that the spirit cubes I've collected will only go on my bracelets or wands. Even the rogue can put one or two on a sword. Yet not the berserker for some reason.

Well. I know i can put unholy cubes on my crossbows cause i already put one on a different crossbow i had. But for some reason i cant put any spirit cubes at all on any of the new crossbows i got.

I can put an Unholy and Wind cubes on my sword and that's it, I have like 3 fire cubes though.
