Overgrowth is a 3d action-adventure game for Mac, Windows, and Linux, coming soon from the independent game studio, Wolfire Games. It is the spiritual successor to Lugaru.
Overgrowth takes place in the savage world of Lugaru where rabbits, wolves and other animals are forced to use paws, claws and medieval weaponry to engage each other in battle. Combining 3rd person adventure platforming with intricate melee combat, Overgrowth achieves a unique feel.
Overgrowth also benefits from Wolfire's brand new Phoenix Engine which has been built from the ground up to allow the use of cutting edge graphics, animation, and physics. Add to these exciting features Overgrowth’s realistic artificial intelligence and streamlined control system and the result is an astoundingly immersive experience.

The game is currently in the alpha stage, and is expected to come out in another year or so. But you can purchase the alpha here: http://www.wolfire.com/overgrowth for $29.95. The game starts with 12 levels, but you can download a menu mod that adds about 55 more levels (Including, Parkour Maps, Arena Maps, and Plain Fighting Maps). As stated before the game is currently only in alpha stage, but the games developers continue to update the game with new material. A community-made auto updater is available as well. Right now the game is a fighting/sandbox game, but in the future when the full game is released it will have a campaign and maybe multiplayer/co-op.

It's not really a sequel, More of a successor.

(And it's spelled Lugaru by the way)

Blimey, I didn't know that the settings would go that low.

It's not lower settings, it's just some of the textures that people make.

things that rock: successor to lugaru

things that suck: my computer would keel over and die if i tried to play this.

I can play it just fine
until i try fighting a bunch of enemies, the ragdoll rape my PC.
I havn't tried setting the priority to high, though. That makes it so the PC is like DIS PROGRAM IS IMPORTANT. USE EVERYTIN WE GOTS!

I'm sure that your computer could run it kinda if it's on high texture_reduce. The only problem that lots of people occur (even with top notch computers) is that the ragdoll physics basically kill their PC and lag it to hell. And also if theirs too much objects and textures in one level it lags like crap aswell. If you could even put your computer specs here I'll see if you can run it.

Bump for awesome game!

Made by the same people who made Black Shades.

this looks awesome
i love the combat <3

I have followed the progress of this game for a shoitload of time.

I found  this at alpha 85.
