What if kompressor actually has the update ready and is just forcing us to wait till a certain day?

Every time someone says that they don't want the update, Kompressor extends the release date by 1 month.

I wonder if Gabe Newell and kompressor are related.

We're looking at decades here.

No. The lowest brick of a save is the same level as slate. If you had a build on the floor of Bedroom but you had buildings on the grass outside then those grass buildings would be on the ground of slate and the floor buildings would be high up in the sky.

The problem of transferring bedroom saves to slate is really a non-issue. Just get Duplicator and you'll be fine.

No, bricks have a specific height written in the save files and they will lock onto that height when loaded.  It does not scale to anything at all.  Save a brick at position 9 -2 5?  It will always load at 9 -2 5, not any adjusted position.  Offtopic...

The Bedroom floor is about 200 units up, the Slate is 0. Position must be adjusted at save time.

I have an old PM from Badspot here which seems to show that saves can have some height conversion done when loading:

The usage is:
serverDirectSaveFileLoad(filename, colormethod, directory name, load ownership, silent)

For colormethod you almost certainly want 3, which is match nearest color. I'm not sure what directory name does
Directory name is kind of a hack for vertical offsets when loading bedroom save files on slate and such.  You probably won't need to set that

For example, the second part of the tutorial is loaded like so:
serverDirectSaveFileLoad("Add-Ons/Map_Tutorial/Tutorial_End.bls", 3, "", 0, 1);
The highlighted part is the important bit.

Hopefully, day/night and weather are possible and smooth.

The previous mods, as you may know, only lighted by hour, and diddn't light the map or interiors.  This could end up VERY nicely.

On a second and more interesting note, I'd like to request a demo video presentation much like the v11 Brick physics demo, to be posted soon (within 6 weeks) before the update is released.  It seems more than worthy.

Just a request :C

do it or the kitten gets it

If there's a day/light thing for this update please make it on certain maps. I don't like that idea :c

I like the idea of being able to customize your Slate. Like being able to choose the lighting, skybox, if it has a day and night cycle, etc.

Question to Kompressor:
Is it possible to pull off terrain-like bricks? Like a bedroom brick?

I would imagine an 8,000+ polygon brick wouldn't work.

Nonetheless one solid color.

Can't wait to hide in a dark corner of a city alley and wait til some derp walks on up.  Jump him with knife...

So dramatic :D
