Author Topic: Zombies are People, Too  (Read 18221 times)

This would make it easier to create certain types of zombie maps, like arenas
Thank you.

I agree, zombies deserve equal rights.

Nice mod, glad its being continued :)

If the issue hasn't been resolved yet,

HOW I SPAWN THESE THINGS

If you want to be able to spawn zombies in a specific place you need to make sure it meets the criteria for a zombie TO spawn.

Hidden from view? [X]

At least a 16x16 away [X] (Doesn't have to be 16, just a reasonable distance away to make sure it checks the "Players on zombie spawns" Criteria")

And if you want it to spawn specifics just select it in the (Zombie spawn Brick's) menu otherwise it might throw you 4 hunters a smoker and 32 standards.

I'm sure there is other criteria, but this seems to work for me consistently.

Technically what most people have been asking for is already implemented.

You just need to have toyed around with it to figure out how it works, people expect it to be as dumbed down as Rotondos.

In reality I'll use this any day purely because of the path-finding.

If other stuff like this persists I might make a whole guide on it to give people some sense.

What would also be cool is a Classic Gamemode. When all zombies are slow, and if one     "bites" you once or twice you start to loss health and if you loss all of your health you become a zombie. If you get bitten multiple times and you die from being "eaten" you just die because the zombies eat your flesh.
This would be original because in almost all zombie movies, once you get bitten it's all over. Unless you can get healed, which is unlikely.
Good idea right here.

or a gamemode where all the zombies are slow walkers but 1 bite and you slowly start dying...
and there are medicines and pills to slow down the infection but none to stop it...

Why the forget do my zombies spawn on the normal spawns?

I'm loving begging you at this point. Please, give me one reason why this is at all necessary.
I'm trying to make The Last Stand from L4D in Blockland. It works with Rot's mod, since it doesn't use the director. For zombies to appear, you have to turn on a generator. The generator uses events to spawn zombies. With the director enabled, the zombies just spawn right away. The thing is though, Rot's zombies are pretty dumb. I'd like to try your zombies but as far as I know it's impossible to spawn them using events without disabling it's director.

Yes this is what we need.

Pathfinding with events. Zombies rather try to jump over a 64x64 block then goung around it.
I mean, like
Onzombietouch > named brick > Go.
But if they spot a player from more then X studs away, they ignore the event and attack the player instead.
Or a "free" event which does the same ^

So, knowing what people are trying to accomplish now, what I have is an event tweak for the director and another mode.

I think the issue people are having is they want a sort of "dumb game" where zombies just keep respawning over and over again like one of those point shop servers.

I'll add in an event called "Panic Mode" that will lift all director restrictions (except for "too far" checks"), and add in another Gamemode for hosting those sorts of games.

Ok, It has come to my mind that we need more zombies.

I've got some ideas.

BloodSucker/Vampire:
- Very Weak
- can cloak
- Works like the jockey, except you can umount whenever you want to
- Same speed as the jockey
- It's health increases as long as it sucks blood
- When you kill it, it explodes. And if you're close to it, It's gastric acid can damage you, like a spitter
- It's size variates with the ammount of blood you have sucked

Astronaut:
- Limited Fuel Jets (Player zombies)
- Invincible against "Falling Damage"
- Vulnerable to attacks on it's back (Jetpack)
- Size of a normal zombie
- Speed of a " "
- Health of a " "

Thief:
- Has the ability of stealing stuff that are currently equipped
- Extremely Fast
- " "       Weak
- Leaves a trail on it's back
- Can only die from melee attacks
- It's claws almost do no damage, only punches you back
- It's trail can attract Hordes

Khain is being too creative

Classic Mode
-Rescue, players hold out for set amount of time
-Only normal zombies
-Zombies always know where the player is
-Reduces "thinking", possibly allowing more zombies without lag
-Zombies fake-kill bricks
       -Except baseplates
-Bricks stay fake-killed for remainder of round, maybe disappear a bit after being fake-killed
-Limbs can be shot off
        -Hands, shoes, shoulders+hands etc.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

In a way.
