You could assume that but the definition for atheism is "the doctrine or BELIEF that there is no God."

A belief "confidence; faith; trust: a child's belief in his parents."

Notice how it mentioned faith?
No. You're a blithering moron and that description is wrong.

You're a blithering moron
?

Why get all defensive? I thought this was a thread where we exchange opinions, not verbally insult one another lol.

it is believing that there is no god.
This is the same exact statement that sparked the argument with Daedalus last page. The same one you participated it and seemed to understand. I don't get how you're doing the same thing.

well, isn't the rejection of a belief agnosticism? :o
because as an agnostic I feel that belief in either side is stupid.
atheists tend to believe that there is no higher power.
Previously I've said "forget it" to explaining it to you because you've ignored the explanations so many times
But your recent apologetic posts make me feel as if it might actually do something. Or perhaps how tired I am is making me just a little bit stupid
The rejection of belief is atheism.
Agnosticism is simply the idea that the existence of gods cannot be proven or disproven. It is not a "third answer" because it does not answer the same question as atheism or theism.
People who think atheism is the complete rejection of the entire possibility of gods see the need for a middle point that does not believe in them but does not entirely reject the possibility, which they call agnosticism. This is incorrect, and also not needed, because atheism is not the complete rejection of the entire possibility of gods

then, headcrab, what would one call my position?
Daedalus what are you doing
typing

I think the word adaption would be better because random chance can sound ridiculous. Like that theres a 1/4^18,000 that 18,000 letters of DNA could form into strands able to start life.
It is random chance though, and using the word 'adaptation' will confuse people.

Before you argue with the big kids please first make sure you actually understand what you're typing.

Evolution is natural selection using random mutations.

Evolution is natural selection using random mutations.
read that as Evololtion
Anyway, it is natural selection, yes, but animals also evolve in terms of their environment.

why are you using words like "but" and "also"?
natural selection =/= natural selection not in an environment

So many dumb insults being flung about right now.

oh I know
but like
obviously there are natural mutations
but in cases such as the finches
they adapted their beak size to the type of food they needed

Yeah that's called natural selection. Some bird happaned to get a more appropriate beak and did better than others and passed on its genes.
That's what natural selection is. Also, what mutations do you suggest are not natural? cause I didn't get that part.

Yes.
And by mutations, I meant random genetical defects. Granted, that leads into natural selection, but still.

mutations are mutations, what do you want. and what do you mean "but still"? still what? were you trying to say something?
