The rejection of belief is atheism.
Agnosticism is simply the idea that the existence of gods cannot be proven or disproven. It is not a "third answer" because it does not answer the same question as atheism or theism.
People who think atheism is the complete rejection of the entire possibility of gods see the need for a middle point that does not believe in them but does not entirely reject the possibility, which they call agnosticism. This is incorrect, and also not needed, because atheism is not the complete rejection of the entire possibility of gods
