I bet you would say the same thing about shadows and shaders before we got to know about the update.

They never said it's not possible.Who knows, sometime they might come up with a way to make it not lag.
it's because of the lighting engine (or something) that kompressor is using is really inefficient. he could've used a different one but apparently it was huge and it was larger than the default blockland itself
