In all seriousness:
Half of the land in Emmeria is reorganized into themes. These themes, which are agricultural areas, provide work to those who are out of work in exchange for civil defense in wartime, and the taxes they pay from the profits from their harvests.
(PS this is what the Byzantines did)

Okay so 30,000 x 60,000,000 = 1,800,000,000,000 and if you account for the people who can't pay due to the recession and stuff you're probably going to have to reduce that figure to
30,000 x 15,000,000 = 450,000,000,000
And if you account for imports and exports you have
450,000,000,000 - (Im) + (Ex)
For this example you have Im = 500,000,000 and Ex = 100,000,000 because it makes the math easier so that's simply put
450,000,000,000 - 400,000,000= 449,600,000,000. Still a lot of money which probably means I'm not sticking enough dents in income. SO INFLATION OCCURS and suddenly even less people can pay meaning you have to drop that previous figure of 15,000,000 to around
Uh
300,000
Meaning you now have an equation of
30,000 x 300,000 = 9,000,000,000 - 400,000,000 = 8,600,000,000
However I'm still not accounting for all the other government losses
Adding school costs country wide you're paying at least 2,000,000,000 here so that means
9,000,000,000 - 400,000,000 = 8,600,000,000 - 2,000,000,000 = 6,600,000,000
Six billion dollars. Okay big enough dent made.
Of course I'm probably wrong but whatever

look up the byzantine economy please :u
but yeah i see your point

Not even accounting for people who may have just loving left because right now the grass is greener on the other side. Because your grass is the stuffty yellow dry ass grass that catches fire in like a nanosecond.

You left healthcare, local government funding and government paychecks out of the equation.  Are you including business taxes and a reasonable amount of taxes from the populous (for those who can afford it)?

We really need to define his healthcare system as well.

ALSO Welfare provided for those who don't work?

No because then that would just be straight up overkill.
Add healthcare for like I dunno 1,000,000,000?
Local government funding for like 2,000,000,000?
ANd then government paychecks for 2,000,000,000 as well?
He has 1,600,000,000 left over, according to my inaccurate and stuffty math which doesn't reflect actual economics at all. Also yeah I did include taxes according to the 30,000 from each citizen that can pay.

What do you mean by overkill here?

Plus, I wouldn't place those numbers that high anyways.

Add healthcare for 570,000,000
Local government funding for like 1,295,000,000
government paychecks for 97,000,000 as well

EDIT:  Even though the timescale is currently stuck at 2027, it SHOULD be around 2046.  I think that we shouldn't look at it so critically and just say that Emmeria will be completely out of debt (excluding the Erinamese loan) by real-game-time 2054.  It that fair?

Still, I've pretty much proved my point about how taxes alone would not work
Ever
Also I was placing the numbers that high because it made math easier and I am not about to do math for a forum country RP OKAY.

Nonono, I get it, but sorry for the edit, but you might want to check that out.  Does my proposal seem reasonable?  If not, what date would you place it at?

Seems reasonable, I guess. But you might have to account for some of the people leaving for greener pastures (AKA any country not in super mega ultra hyper deluxe super super gold debt of the century edition debt.)

Wow I was thinking add three years too
So yeah 2057 seems reasonable, unless something terrible like the Steel Legion blowing something up in Emmeria occurs.
Of course that won't happen.
Nope not at all.
Of course it won't.
Surely.
