my ultimate water mellone cannon didn't just blow people up
it brought laughter as i taunted in front of the currently-being-blown enemies and as they are put to shame, then they realize that they were just killed with a weapon called a water mellone cannon with over 1600 confirmed kills which brings a smile to their face.

Apparently Valve wants people to be more helpless while they're taunting

For cases like the Demoman, he could be taunting for fun but have left himself vulnerable to an attack, but then he might be able to save himself by blowing up his stickies and killing the enemy before they can get too close to him

Now you can't save yourself while you're taunting, so instead of looking cool, you'll just look like a fool
