Just remember that Gordon is a scientist and you are going against soldiers with armor that makes them walking tanks.

This

you gotta wonder

how many billions of loving dollars did they spend trying to get freeman?

there was like 5 tanks, multiple helicopters, air strikes, battalions of troops, etc. imagine trying to explain THAT to the colonel.

It's not just Freeman they're after. They're trying to kill all the other employees as well and destroy Black Mesa.

Yeah, but Gordon was like a legend to them. They constantly talk about him on the radio and stuff, and labeled him as a huge threat. They made a big deal out of him.
"I got Freeman!"
"stuff! It's Freeman!"
etc.

Anyways, it's a damn good thing G-Man puts him into cryostasis or whatever for a few years. He probably would not have been able to live a normal life. I would assume the government/marines would hunt him down - he was basically a monster to them.

Also on the radio at the beginning of "forget about freeman", they say "FORGET ABOUT FREEMAN, WE'RE PULLING OUT" over the radio towards all HECU units which would lead us to think that they're mainly hunting him.

I never reached that part, but I agree with your statement. He was such a huge problem for them.

Haven't you beaten hl1?

Where some of the HECU left behind at that part? I heard them say "any man still down there is on their own"... Are they referring to the other HECU units? Because that would be a loving richard move.

I never had a chance to. I only played HL2 and it's episodes when I got The Orange Box. Around the time I was going to get Half-Life, Black Mesa was coming out soon. So I decided to just wait a bit.

Sounds like it.

You are no gamer then.

Sounds like it.
That's funny. If anything, if I had been left down there to die, I'd join up with Freeman.

That would be fun, having HECU units / scientists / security officers fighting alongside you.

You are no gamer then.

I am THE hardcore gamer, and I never even played HL1.  That's probably because I was too young to care when it first came out, though I know a lot about it, and have for a long time.  If you've never played System Shock 2, you have never played a real FPS.  It was loads better than Half Life, but never really gained any popularity, because it came out too close to HL1.

Had to make some corrections...  loving iPhone...

I got HL2 first because I thought HL1 was a horror

"Aw man, you cut the ponytail! Sellout..."

I can imagine exactly what Gordon would look like with a ponytail. He looks like the kind of scientist that would have one.

He looked like this
