I am THE hardcore gamer, and I never even played HL1.  That's probably because I was too young to care when it first came out, though I know a lot about it, and have for a long time.  If you've never played System Shock 2, you have never played a real FPS.  It was loads better than Half Life, but never really gained any popularity, because it came out too close to HL1.

wouldn't agree with Halo there, or Metroid, for that matter.  Might as well put CoD there if you're including Halo.  Frogger seems out of place, and I would replace it with Pac-Man.  Also, missing Deus Ex.  Maybe Thief should be added?

I was referring to the more modern ones, like CoD4.  I mean that like how Halo is something more like GoldenEye.  To enjoy it as much as others do, you would have had to have played it around its release, when the multiplayer was huge, so I don't think it belongs on the list.
