There are also many types of cancer. That could be a factor in cancer being 100% cured.
True, but at it's most basic level a cancer is the same thing. A cell that has mutated (for numerous reasons), and no longer has control of itself and grows/replicates out of control, spreading and damaging other cells.
The main difference between types of cancer is where they are situated and the damage they can do in their situation.
Stomach Cancer, Lung Cancer, Liver Cancer, Brain Cancer, Bone Cancer, Skin Cancer... They're all cancers, they're just in different places and so have different effects, may have come about due to different reasons, might have slightly different mutations present, and they might respond differently to treatments, or not suitable for some treatments.
'Meh, it's a bit awkward.
Cancers are very very different from each other, but at the same time, they're mostly the same thing.
Fun Fact: Your body fights off cancer everyday and fitness helps your body eliminate cancer cells. Being out of shape weakens your ability to do that and increases the risk of cancer cells forming and replicating.
So rather than promoting a cure, or wiping out a chunk of the herd. I say we promote cancer prevention and the colonization of mars.
This is true, and I would promote cancer prevention equally (Whether that's promoting fitness or educating the stupid about things like excessive sunbathing), but even the fittest people can get cancer spontaneously.
I wouldn't suggest working for a cure, but just better treatments and prevention.
I don't need to be immune to cancer.
I just want it to be quickly dealt with with few long-term side effects if I get it, and for me to be less likely to get it in the first place..
