I don't really like metal and hard rock. All of the songs are too similar. They all sound the same to me.

The only mainstreamish band I like is Coldplay.

I liked the couple songs I listened to of The Black Keys. They sound familiar, I think they might have a song in NHL12.
Foo Fighters, I didn't really like the singer's voice and it seemed too much like hard rock, but they were still pretty good.

The Yellow Moon Band did this one cool song called Chimney.

As for southern rock, you might like The Black Crowes or The Delta Riggs. (Though if you listen to the Riggs I suggest that you listen to Their EP Album first. It was probably their best so far.
