Author Topic: Today's Mainstream Music v. Classic Music  (Read 12991 times)

Modern music is garbage and the people who make it, like Lady GaGa and Nicki Minajj are just idiotic love dolls in ridiculous suits who live materialistic lives of reliance on their fame to survive. They have no real talent. Autotune and computers deserve more of the credit than the actual musicians themselves these days. Hollywood and the music and celebrity music industries are things full of sadness and worldly emptiness.

there's plenty of great bands nowadays

and if you're referring to edm being easy to make because it's made on a computer, if you asked theblackparrot or kingdaro, they put a tremendous amount of time, money and energy into each one of their songs.

Classical music. Favorite song: She blinded me with sience
That's not classical music

It's funny because Lady Gaga is actually good at singing.

EDIT: And that seems to be the main artist people rag on in this thread.

"You don't have to listen to it"

And if I fart in your face, you don't have to smell.

So does anyone here actually like today's mainstream music that we can argue with? It seems like most of the people here like lesser known bands nowadays rather than Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.
Lol.
You shouldnt loving argue about musical taste. Telling someone they're stupid for listening to Justin Bieber or Katy Perry doesnt change their mind, you know.

...eeeeeh

moreso theblackparrot than me, i'm not a good example since i can poop out a song in about 10 hours lol

If only she could stop wearing ridiculous outfits and acting weird, then people would realize she is a good singer. Then give here some good music to sing with an actual band.

you don't just make a little melody and press a button and out comes edm music

Completely different things.
Music is something that is very diverse. Many people like many different things. Just because you dont like something, doesnt mean someone else doesnt.
You make it seem like todays music is causing you pain, when you could completely ignore it and listen to your own stuff music.

Hard Day's Night by the Beatles. Great song. It was thought up in an hour and they finished it before the day was done.

Im about to say something that may piss a few people off.
I think people who dwell on the past, and only listen to music from the 80s or below, are loving stupid. They constantly say that todays music is stuff, but how would they know? They're too busy bullstuffting themselves into thinking their music is the best to even consider listening to music of today.
You're making the same broad, sweeping generalizations as Blok. How am I stupid for liking a certain sound in my music? I don't like today's music but I can comprehend that artists put a lot of effort into their work despite how much I hate listening to it. I do think the type of music I listen to is better in some ways and I have listened to the music of today. Hell, I like a few Lady GaGa songs and three or four Daft Punk songs.

Lol.

1. You don't need a band for good music.

2. Peter Gabriel, the first lead singer for Genesis. Who is amazing. Who Dave Matthews sounds like a little bit. Wore completely insane outfits all the time. It is a cool personality thing and a successful gimmick.

they're not farting in your face, you're willingly walking in while they're using the bathroom
