why would it be? i mean, i'm not trying to be some sort of douchebag who wants to "convert" you, hell no, but why would you rather believe in something negative than in something positive? think of how neat it would be if god would exist. you'd go to heaven and life a never-ending life there, and all your wishes come true and all that stuff. but if god wouldn't exist, you'd just rot in the ground. even if you're not aware that you're rotting in the ground, it'd still be a lot more fun if god would exist and you'd go to heaven after living a successful life, wouldn't it? once again, i am not trying to "convert" you. please do not get me wrong.

I grew up as an atheist, so I don't feel bad that there isn't a heaven or god. Some people who were born into a Christian family grow up to believe that there is a heaven, and when they realize that there is no god/heaven, they feel like they've lost something, a sort of happiness and sense of security.

But when you grow up as an atheist, you have never known that sense of security. Instead, you live your life to the fullest because its all you have.

I grew up as an atheist, so I don't feel bad that there isn't a heaven or god. Some people who were born into a Christian family grow up to believe that there is a heaven, and when they realize that there is no god/heaven, they feel like they've lost something, a sort of happiness and sense of security.

But when you grow up as an atheist, you have never known that sense of security. Instead, you live your life to the fullest because its all you have.

i grew up christian, went to church, said grace at dinner, prayed before i went to bed and all that. at the age of 8 (still did all those things) i started to realize how bad things were in the world, then multiple tragedy's impacted me, my family, and my friends. after that i questioned god and all he was supposedly doing for humanity, and eventually realized that the entire concept of god was stupid.

if i die and there actually is a god and you DO actually meet him, i would kindly tell him to go stick his big holy cross up his evangelical rear and not give two stuff about whether i went to hell or not.
