We'll be releasing some new highly requested improvements to the Access Control functionality tomorrow which is going to require the panel to be unavailable for about 30 minutes or so. Panel downtime is unfortunately unavoidable due to the fact that access control is a deeply-ingrained part of the system. To be clear, servers will remain online but you won't be able to access the panel during this time.

The update is intended to allow users to better refine the access people have to their server panel via the use of customisable roles. The user can define roles with access to specific resources and then apply those roles to specific users. Here are a couple of pictures to demonstrate this:

You'll get the 4 default roles applied to your account after this update is rolled out and you'll then be free to configure them however you'd like.

I'll be posting closer to the maintenance window but I expect the downtime to occur around 13:00 EDT (18:00 UTC) on the 9th of September.

In addition to the above update I've added a button to the Add-Ons page which will allow you to only enable the default add-ons and will disable all your other ones.

This was another big request from our feedback so thanks again for letting us know what's important to you guys.

What about add kick and ban?

That's definitely towards the top end of our priority list now, will come soon no doubt!

Could you add a BL_ID field for banning so they don't need to be on the server?

Absolutely ... the general idea is to have full ban management functionality available in the panel - so that'd include arbitrary banning of course.

If anyone has ideas or opinions on how an environment save feature would work, go ahead and discuss them in this thread. I'm thinking about how to implement such a feature since it's such a highly requested addition.

My thoughts at the moment are that the panel would just allow you to save the current configuration with a particular filename and you could then apply or download any of those saved configurations via the panel again.

I think any kind of ability to change the environment from the web would be an absolutely massive undertaking with not much use as you still have no idea how things are going to look ingame.

No doubt it'd be a lot of effort - but a part accurate "preview" which was just a static scene which maybe showed water and lighting colors would be absolutely awesome.
Still though, something as simple as importing and exporting the configuration from and to files would be pretty nice too.

Get basic saving and loading in first, plus the ability to set one environment to load on startup. Previews and customization can be implemented later if they're still being requested and there aren't more important things to do.

Can't seem to access the support page so I'll post it here: I've solved the issue I had with uploading files. Apparently my browser, Firefox, perceived what I was doing as a "Threat", and automatically blocked me from uploading. The problem was entirely on my end, and I am able to upload files now.

Hmm, can you give any further details on how it determined it to be a threat?

Also what's up with the support page? That sounds concerning.

It was trying to block some kind of threat, I'll try to find why. Basically a little white shield appeared in the top left of my address bar, and after I clicked it, it said "Content was blocked."

All I know is that when I try to access the page, it comes up with the "Error has occurred" page.

Sweet that helps ... does that alert only come up when you start trying to upload something?

As for the support ticket page - apologies for that. It should be working now.

Yes, and there's no way to permanently squelch it. It will pop up every time I try to upload anything on the panel.

Also as something completely unrelated, I can't seem to shut down my server, did I mess it up somehow?

It's stuck at this

Sorry about that. Kind of a longstanding issue relating to how updating works. It's a bit of a one-off situation but it should be fixed now.

As for the uploading issue, I think I've got an idea of what the problem is so we'll look at fixing that asap. It's not your fault, just Firefox being a bit overcautious about insecure elements on the page.

Yep, something on that page isn't being encrypted. Firefox is handling it like a totally encrypted page and when it finds something that isn't encrypted, it blocks it since it doesn't comply with the encryption that the page is supposed to have according to what Firefox is being told. That's my experience at least, it only started doing this recently with the new version of Firefox (à la Internet Explorer). The cause here might be of similar nature.
