I can't believe this makes people want to relax gun laws. Let's think about this for a moment, there would be so many more accidental shootings. I can just imagine a group of kids getting hold of their parent's guns and having a "pretend" gun fight, one of them doesn't realise the safety is off..

People saying things like "oh if more people had guns, people would be less likely to risk their lives by attempting a mass shooting", most of the people that go on these rampages end up killing themselves anyway, they would simply kill as many people as they could before they too are shot, and if there's a large crowd of people, no one is going to notice someone pulls out a pistol until it's too late.

However, if public use of guns was made illegal, then it would be so much more difficult to get hold of a gun, shootings would be less likely to take place.

This is horrible. All of my sincerites go out to everyone and their families at this tragic event.

You can blame personality disorders, you can blame autism or downs syndrome, but in the end YOU'RE THE ONE pulling the trigger and killing those people.

I am glad the gunman ended his own life, but it's unfortunate that he also killed his mother and all those young students...

This crime has nothing to do with gun laws, at all. It has to do with the inability for those who need mental help aren't getting it. No sane person is going around shooting up schools, though giving more people guns would probably only make this whole thing worse.

Poor children, all the life they would've lived just gone, i bet they where terrified.

Because we're not your personal messengers. It's called the news. Find out from there.

It's probably worse for those who were close to getting killed but weren't.

Yes it does, If anybody in that school, Teachers, Truant Officers, Principal, etc. had a gun, fatalities could have been greatly reduced.

No, if a trained officer had a gun it probably would have been better. Letting people who aren't properly trained carry guns would have most likely not made a difference. All these people talking about how allowing people to carry guns would reduce massacres like this, but these people aren't thinking rationally. They have no concern for if they're going to die or not. What we need is a better system for people with mental health issues to get help.

even if they had a gun, I doubt usage would be possible and frankly. Most of them would of hid anyways. An officer on the other hand could of done that.

Thats the parents fault for not locking their gun in a safe or something.

If I ever have a gun, and kids or people in my family with mental problems, I'll end up buying a combo safe and changing the combo every so often.

The solution is open carry gun laws, where you need to get lisenced to do so, but it's not hard (like you need to know basics and safety, etc).

Again look at Alaska
