It was to slayer, but I forgot to hit post for a few hours so

I've done that a few times.

This is what I got for Christmas
Thoughts?

I think my psu is dead, after turning it off to avoid smoke from being sucked in. I turned it off after waking up to the heater smoking like crazy again so I shut off my pc, but when I went to turn it back on it wouldn't power on except just for a couple of seconds. Now it won't work at all... I'm having it blown out asap, is it a possibility that soot may have caused a issue?
forgot to mention that my dad kept hitting the power and emergency restarting buttons at the same time, could that have done something bad?

i did, now driving on my pc is awesome. :P

Is it generally a bad idea to overclock a GPU with stock coolers/fans?  I'm just curious, I'm scared to do any kinda overclocking of my system.

I overclocked my 780 Ti (this is like the third time i've said it but /brag) to +200mhz core and +300mhz memory with +37mV on a stock fan. Max temps I've seen are ~70c. Really depends on the stock cooler.

A Radeon 7750 would have given you 30+ FPS for the same price.

I still need help.

So I have like $40 GameStop giftcards

Good news is I have like $160 cash so that's a good start

Maybe soot got stuck in the fan? idk. either way, it might have fried your components

It's a possibility your PSU might have gone, however what exactly do you mean by
power and emergency restarting buttons at the same time

To your computer? Because there's not really an emergency restart button on a computer as far as I'm aware.

I don't think most people will know what they're talking about as far as this issue goes in general because I don't think most people will deal with smoke entering the fans on their PC in their lifetime.

The Button below the power button that cuts all power and restarts the pc.

It's safe to assume the psu is dead, I press the button and it only clicks. It'll attempt to power on every 100 power on attemptS

You should probably everything. It looks nicer that way.
EDIT: Also try , it looks more modern.

It died from smoke and soot inhalation. Luckily I found my order number and such so when the weather clears up and I can afford to ship it back I'll RMA it.

i don't think they'll cover that because it wasn't a problem with the power supply itself
