lga 2011 boards tend to cost way more than lga 1150, plus they only support quad-channel memory so you'll need 4 sticks at once. I would go with lga 1155 for simplicity's sake and cheaper price. ddr4 is supposedly coming out at the end of the year, and will be supported on both lga 1150 and 2011 boards

I scored a Dell Precision M4400 on eBay for 160 bucks. Just got it today. :)
Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
Quadro FX 770M
4GB RAM

The Quadro is the business version of the 8600 GTS I believe. Plays TF2 on high at 1920x1200 at ~90FPS maxed out.

I thought those cards were terrible for gaming...

stuff I know nothing about business cards.

It's pretty much in the drivers. I guess they also have faster memory. The drivers are more optimized for OpenGL. Still does great for gaming. There's mixed results in loading the 8600 driver on this card. Some report higher FPS, others say it lowered it. I'm just going to stick with the proper Quadro drivers.

I'm really surprised actually. I was expecting around 30FPS.

So I have 2 friends with a strict $800 budget and this is what I came up with.

And the reason I decided to get the GTX 650 Ti Boost is because in the future one already said he wants to SLI with the GTX 650 Ti Boost.

Opinions on the build?

I reinstalled my friends operating system on his laptop for him because he wanted everything wiped and stuff (his OS is windows 7 BTW). But I don't know his windows product key and I already reinstalled the OS. Is there any way I could find the product key?

It should be on the bottom of the laptop, on a white sticker.

Why does the second guy know he wants to SLI specifically a 650 ti boost? Even for the same price, the r9 270 is a better choice
I think an i5-4670k is a little overkill for a strict $800 budget. For at least the first guy, you should downgrade to an i3-4130 (same socket, so he could upgrade in the future) and get a 760 + a better/bigger hard drive

They both want to overclock and want Intel/NVIDIA based systems. They said they can go $30 extra so I upgradedthe HDD and the GPU.

Take a look now. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Moby1997/saved/3nAR

Alright so I found out that my PSU has a 3 year warranty, how do I exchange my broken PSU for a working one? I'm bad at exchanges :/

how about this

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2y7B5

for their budget it would be way better to leave out overclocking capability in exchange for a WAY better video card

There is no white sticker.
pretty much forgeted then, call customer support or w/e

There's not really anything wrong with that build (except for the ram), but if both of the guys have expressly stated that they want to overclock then I think they should go with glass' second posted build configuration with the motherboard from your build, and then replace the 660 with the r9 270 because it still has better performance for the same price.

Welp. My front intake fan is very loud, I know it's not just the fan blades, cause when I turn it around, it's much quieter. Is there anything I could do to quiet it?

1.5 fps difference, not noticeable.

the benefit of a 770 will greatly outweigh overclocking. the max performance increase from overclocking will be in the single digit range, while from a 770 it would be in the higher double digit range.
