So I might build my friend a $800 gaming computer and this is what I got for him (he doesn't overclock or know about advanced things like that so no need for spending more money on K version of CPU).

What do you guys think? I went a little over $800 but he said not a big deal.

Get a 3570k, they are like 180 on sale on amazon I think.

Looks to me like you forgot one very important part. Can you spot which one it is?
motherboard. WELL. THAT BUILD WOULD HAVE WENT FANTASTIC.

Updated: Took out the 1TB HDD because my friend said he had a external HDD he just found to backup to.

Guys, I have a question.

Do I HAVE to sacrifice an SSD and a RAID5 for a quad-titan? Is there a way to keep them all?

...spend more money

just something to note, im pretty sure there is no performance difference between triple-titan and quad-titan SLI because titan only supports triple-sli but i might be mistaking

It's for backups and any extra storage needed.
Aren't back-ups kind of pointless unless you've got another storage unit? Example being the main HDD/SSD failing and then reverting to the back-up.

I'm using an AMD FX-8120 with a stock fan and I've been thinking of replacing the fan.
Any ideas/suggestions? Lately I've been thinking about a Scythe Mugen 4, but I dunno.

You are extremly stupid if you think spending over 5K on a computer will keep it from being outdated. Also you don't need that performance.

Things that you can keep for a good amount of years without changing include your motherboard, ram, PSU, stuff like hard drives, maybe even CPUs. The only thing drastically changing are the GPUs. CPUs and other components not as much.

lol overmind you are being a complete handicap right now. quad sli with titans are NEVER needed and dual or triple titans perform better than quad. that being said there is really no reason to get titans, as they are enthusiast class cards and really its just overkill by now. save your money to upgrade your computer when you really need to, not spend it all at one time. please do research and stop coming to forums and asking advice for your stuffty decisions, and try to use google more often.

don't get a loving quad titan. you're not going to need that power. it's also a huge waste of money. (168% performance for 4x the price)
