Intel. Also it doesn't take up any pcie slots so you can upgrade easily with a real discrete card in the future
Alright, i'm going with the Black Licorice then.

Is this a good laptop in general? I'm not buying this for high-end gaming.

why are you getting a network card

????
Glass had one in the original build, I thought he needed an extra one, I know the motherboard has onboard ethernet, I though Glass knew that

Awesome, I cut down the costs quite a bit tho, considering he needs it to be as cheap as possible. He said he can upgrade in the future so I removed some stuff and came out with this.

If you're wondering why I didn't include a Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor,I told him to just go to WalMart or something to get things like a Keyboard/Mouse kit along with a monitor, as much as I hate Walmart his mom is really cheaping out on him here and Walmart has the best prices for that type of thing.

Haha, true.

You're going to want to up the HDD then, I built that PC around an $800 budget, that HDD is going to bottleneck the entire system, you were supposed to boot off the SSD but now it is removed, and the RAM you chose is fine, the cas latency could be better though

My network adapter I included was "Wireless" you got a wired one.

What's a good hard drive I can use then?

stuff I thought I saw it as an ethernet card, well then be sure to change that out lol

You'd want a Western Digital Caviar Black, it's going to run you probably around $110

edit; this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wdbaaz0020hncnrsn
with the money you're spending it's a lot more sensible to just get the SSD and dual run the SSD and HDD

I talked to a friend just now and he said the 1TB drive would be fine. How exactly would it bottleneck my system...?

7200 RPM, booting Windows, reading/writing files will be a LOT slower than your CPU's ability to read/write

With the help of Vortex and Pcpartpicker we managed to come up with this and its still in my budget.

What do all of you guys think?

Is 434 your absolute budget? Looks good to me.

Small limit

My budget is $500 but thats about all I need, no need for another Optical drive for as I have a sata drive already.

Shouldn't that build be able to run most games?

vortex is stupid but its okay

lol what?

I helped him pick out affordable parts, the phenom is an unarguable record winner for a $100 CPU, stock cooling with it is perfectly fine.

The mobo isn't perfect, but the bus speeds are fine

The RAM is 1600 clock gaming RAM, sure it's 2GB sticks but it's cheaper per GB that way

The HDD is 7200 RPM and 500GB is enough for a cheap pc

sure you could get a 7770, but Alyx picked the parts out and the 7750 is fine, I didn't want to have to explain what makes the 7770 better and all

that case is also unarguably the best for its price

the PSU is too large, but I'd already told him that

so, please explain where you think i'm dumb?

Run? Yes. Run at very high settings on really recent games? Maybe/Unlikely.

What's your resolution for the monitor?

I'm not really sure, I just know its a 17"

hard drive bottlenecking

hard drive bottlenecking

The current setup? That HDD is more than enough.
Or are you questioning hard drive bottleneck? It exists, it's a possibility.
