This isn't quite a computer problem, but a headset problem. I've looked around and found no solutions, and Turtle Beach hasn't been much help so far, so if anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated.

Basically, the audio for my Turtle Beach PX22 won't play unless it's over a certain volume level. As in, if something in my game is quiet, like gunshots in the distance or a vehicle driving by, I can't hear it, even though I could before. But it will come through if something is loud enough to "trigger" it, as I say. So if I fire a pistol, I can hear it, as well as everything else, but then it stops playing in my headset until another noise loud enough to come through plays.

If I need to reword this I will, I just want to know if anyone can help.

yep same problem here, I have no idea how to fix it or why it does this.

Have you tried using a different audio port?

Have you tried using a different audio port?

I'm fairly sure it's built into the headset

Turtle Beach is garbage for almost anything, guaranteed

people should post pics of there builds/setups :I

Alrighty then,

That's the front of the case with the fan controller

That's my three 21.5" monitors, m65 gaming mouse, blue yeti microphone, standard HP keyboard, and stuffty webcam

Have you tried using a different audio port?

I've only got one audio port to use.

I sent an email to support but Turtle Beach is so generously slow, and when they did get back to me they were confused so I had to reword it for them. But thanks for the help anyway

The port on your PC or the jack on your headphones is forgeted up. I bent my jack, surprisingly it still works but only when turned in a certain position, otherwise the sound goes extremely low and is distorted and makes crackling noises.

no it's not, I have the same model Turtle Beaches and the same issue and on all three audio jacks is has the same issue, and with a different models controller piece it's the same issue.

It might be a common problem with the headset or a built in feature, I'm not sure which

Long story short, buy new headphones.

I was thinking of buying 4gb RAM now and adding more later, would it be dumb to buy 4gb then 8gb?

If you buy one stick with a good speed and get more later with the same speed and model it would not be that bad of an idea.

Makes sense to me. Make sure the ram is good.

I might be able to get both at the same time actually. I was thinking, I get my PC parts ordered on September the 12th. My birthday is on the 2nd and I usually get a good $40 on my birthday. I already have $28 (with more to come tomorrow)
And I'm getting paid back $20 for a loan I gave out, so overall if things go as planned I'll have around $70 and I'm going to put it on a card.

Will do. I always consult people who know their stuff before getting parts.
