I'd replace that power supply with one of these for $20 less, but other than that it's a really great build. Save for the graphics card it should last you a good five years or so.
yes, I agree with this

No. His modular psu is fine... fully wired psu's are literally the devil.

My monitor turns off when i plug the vga cable into my computer (even the vga-dvi adapter do nothing)

Now i'm stuck on mobile

So, I got an old computer and I want to make it a late 90's/early 2000's gaming PC. I've already replaced the extremely forgeted up CD Drive and replaced the 256mb stick of PC133 RAM with 2x512mb DDR1 sticks (Yes, this motherboard surprisingly has 2 slots for both types). I'm also planning on boot n nuke'ing the HDD, and installing either 2000 or XP (The case badge says made for ME and XP, but forget ME). I need advice on this computer. I need to know what parts will make it a badass late 90's/early 2000's gaming PC, and I also have a problem......Whenever I turn off the computer, it turns right back on a few seconds later. Could I get help with both of these problems please?

Specs:
1.7ghz Athlon XP
1gb DDR1 RAM
40gb HDD (Formatted in FAT32, Eugh)
S3 ProsavageDDR 32mb integrated graphics
Windows XP SP1

Eh, it really depends on your preferences. I wouldn't buy that Corsair though when there's a semi-modular Antec for just $5 more than the XFX: http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Current-HCG-520M-BRONZE-Modular/dp/B006TVQTAY/ref=sr_1_53?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1416599620&sr=1-53

Semi is better than fully wired. I have a semi, and there's still cables I don't use just uselessly taking up space.

It worked on my laptop,  which is a 16mb ATI 7500

So I am looking to build a ~$700 gaming computer. I found a build that I like and am likely going to do. Figured I would throw it out there to see what you guys think. I plan on using it to play most / all modern games and FPS's. So tell me what you think and feel free to give me suggestions or other builds within budget.

I think you should get more RAM.

Get 2 sticks of 4 GB instead of 1 stick of 8.

8gb is enough
You don't want enough, you want expandability and more RAM than what running a game, steam, youtube videos, browsing at the same time would take.

Y'know, just because.

but if he's on a budget and cant expand for another 4 GB or 8 GB of ram then that's his walk.

more RAM than what running a game, steam, youtube videos, browsing at the same time would take.
i run on 4 gigs of ram right now and I can do this all flawlessly.
8 gigs is more than enough

8 gigs is pretty much all you need unless you go into rendering a large amount of stuff such as videos

speaking of which I'm thinking about upgrading to 16 as I'm starting up making videos soon.

Christmas shopping early lel, would this be better then a 4770k? (like a noticeable difference)

well like, for tasks, I'll also need a new motherboard if anyone can find a good one, budget $500 and I'd like to see if anyone can mix in an ssd
