If you already have a 4770k, no. The only difference between the two is that the 4790k has better thermal paste beneath the heat spreader and a higher base clock, and the latter is a moot point anyway since both processors have unlocked multipliers. If you're building a new system though there no reason not to go for the newer processor since AFAIK they cost exactly the same.

8 gigs is pretty much all you need unless you go into rendering a large amount of stuff such as videos
uh, well, I don't think RAM really makes a difference for that

Upgrading from a 8320, what motherboard should I get for it?
currently I have 2x4 1600mhz 8gb ddr3 ram with a GTX 770, an SSD and two hard drives, any ideas?

CPU speeds and RAM both have part in it.

I'm looking to build a PC for $1500. I won't be able to purchase it cyber Monday so I won't be able to take advantage of sales. Can anyone help me out?

EDIT: How's this?

as in video editing

I currently have a 1 TB HDD in my computer but that stuffs too small. But I also want an SSD as well. Is there a way to put the OS of my backup onto an SSD but the rest of the files on an HDD?

Yeah.

yes, and you'll notice your OS to become a tad bit faster as well.

that psu is not sufficient enough.

I don't know what the stuff Swat was smoking but 650 W seems fine. I'd stay with the 900 series of nvidia gpus, updated architecture and all that.
