I think I wanna do this as well
it would be a massive upgrade over my stuffty ol' 560... Apparently it has around the performance of a stock 980.

The fact that it's $200 still blows my mind.  Then crossfiring them and it's as good  as a 1080 for $400

480 is already known to be $200, 470 is unknown but I'm guessing it'll be around $170-$140. And 480 is said to have the performance of a 980, although from the videos of it being used it looks like it doesn't render things all that well. But if you still want a cheap solution then go with the 480.
Yeah $200 would be out of my price-range, I guess I'll shoot for the 470/460

I'm not expecting the 480 to be as good as they say, but i do expect it to surpass a 390 by a slight margin at the least, which is good enough for me until the 490/x comes out

loving helP ME

you have a thumb drive or CD with installation media right? and you know how to boot to a different device?
so after doing the installation, when you boot, make sure you're selecting to boot onto the device that you installed windows to, and NOT booting to the install device

if it's not bootable then idk wat to tell u rofl

After the OS installs and the pc restarts, IMMEDIATELY unplug your USB or media you're using and be sure to go into the BIOS so that your main storage drive is set to the first slot in startup

doing this brought me to "getting devices ready" then it froze mid-load

trying this now.

oh my loving god

I went to the Nvidia forums asking for help with this 368.39 driver crashing all the time, and one guy started telling me how it was my hardware and that I should "isolate each thing" and see how everything runs, I told him I'm not familiar with the tools and that it's not a hardware problem but rather a software one. Well, his response?
"And such, then, is my cue to bow out. Sorry to introduce new concepts to you as I know they can be quite disturbing to some..."

m8 r u serius

now some other guy on the forums is giving me stuff and telling me to abandon PC building and stick to prebuilts from Best Buy. what the absolute forget is going on I just want to fix my drivers hghngggg stop being richards and inform me instead of mocking me jesus christ

I finally got Windows to boot but now im getting BSODs up the ass

welcome to Win 10, where installing it on a fresh drive is your only option, cause then we'll force update your current one and break your stuff.

its on a fresh drive ;-;
oh stuff what

I installed it on a fresh drive like 3 days ago and using it right now, weird. Try to install it again or some stuff, that's all I can really say.

It's probably from it being installed over and over. Maybe try wiping the drive you installed Win 10 on and try again?

and instead of wiping it just format the drive, sometimes if you just delete everything on it "digital residue" still resides on the drive which could goof stuff up during the installation process.
