short compared to other spear-like weapons (makes it easier to handle, I am only 5'1"), lightweight, can kill zombies without being too close for comfort, and it just looks badass

And trained military personnel. With guns. Guns they know how to use. The military aren't as useless in a zombie apocalypse as you might think, and they'll probably have guards there specifically to keep out people like you.
