Many things, MMO's, the ability to feel connected, reliance on people other than yourself.
Hey, wanna go ass to ass with me using a 2 foot carrot? I know it won't be very pleasant for either of us or necessary, but we will reach the ability to feel connected that way!

EDIT: Why don't we just put a concrete wall between us and cut a hole for the didlo to go trough? Then we will both know that somewhere out there there is another guy, but they cannot interact with us! Don't worry, you can rely me on bringing you the true SimCity experience!

You know, before you were banned you were quite less of an starfish, but now you're just turning from being a slightly intelligent starfish to a complete prick.

0/10 try harder.

none of those are an exclusive feature of having DRM in your game

I'm talking specifically about DRM, not a general online experience. you can have all of those in any multiplayer game and you don't need DRM.

Why don't you give us more of those "many things" you mention being exclusive to drm?

Um, too bad they are?

Look at EVE Online, DRM, anyone who plays it will tell you that it beats the living forget out of anything in the genre that isn't DRM

I don't think Tonkka and SpreadsPlague even bought the game.

1) why would I buy it in the state it's in? I own most of the other SimCity games though.

2) what does buying this game have to do with talking about always-on DRM? lots of games have it?

you could just as easily have all of those features in a game with optional multiplayer. why does online NEED to be forced? none of those are exclusive to DRM ..

(also are there even any other games in eve's genre??)

also lol'd @ how the wikipedia page already mentions SimCity

I can't do anything but give you credit for reading and typing my name correctly. I was once called "TINIKA" and it had me hide under my bed for a week.

EVE online could not be recreated in a single player non forced DRM game, lol.

Player based market, PVP, Corporations, Skillsets, none of that is possible in a non-DRM game

Well the Borderlands games don't require a DRM from what i know, but they can handle PVP, trading, skills and all that stuff just fine.

I want it, but I have a mac. :(

I want to play it, but i can't afford it and the new online network system whatever is terrible.

right as my industrial started becoming high tech the servers went down for maintenance.
