Runescape advertises itself as a free game. If it truly was subscription, it'd be false advertising, since the free game is the main feature.

well you are wrong. its not free. it hasnt been for nearly 10 years.
its no different then how all games advertise their demo play. on runescape you only get like 5% of the game if you dont subscribe.
you cant even call yourself a runescape player if you have never been a member lol.

and you can grow up and stop throwing that "false advertising" stuff around because you dont know what it means.
it only applies when a person has been cheated. so what jagex is doing isnt false advertising you dumb forget.

imo runescape was at its best during like 2008-2009.

The issue with runescape was not that they improved the graphics or added the GE, it's that they added a ton of useless stuff, neglected a lot of quests and minigames, and they completely  changed styles. The style change would have been more bearable had they added some more content that wasn't bullstuff, but they didn't really add anything original. Then they started trying to syphon as much money out of the games in less than moral ways and that killed the game for me.

Ever since 2008 it's been going downhill with more and more being shoved into the paid version that f2p isn't even fun anymore. They haven't added major new content to it in years, the stuffty excuse for a new "balanced" combat system aside.
