Author Topic: Airsoft thread. This topics still alive and well!  (Read 116908 times)

I would totally make an Airsoft Mega thread with rules and a nice structure.. if I knew it was going to last. But alas, I only make it on the forums every once and a while and barely play blockland (Mainly because I'm insanely busy and have a lot to do). Summer is nearly over and yet I have to go back to scho... Oh wait nvm no I don't lol

Why just pistols? I would prefer a Propane PDW any day, in fact I'm ordering one for $399 in a couple of weeks. Also takes Co2 Stanag magazines.

Just pistols because idk. We can cycle through them. Like 1st pistols then ARs then PDWs then Snipers or soemthing.

By PDW I mean KAC PDW, thats a weapon name, not the category XD A category on PDW's would be dumb, you could consider just about any SMG that shoots a full rifle round :/

I thought PDW was just another name for SMG type guns. Hm i guess i was wrong.

A personal defense weapon (PDW) is a compact semi-automatic or fully automatic firearm similar in most respects to a submachine gun, but firing a (often proprietary) rifle round - Very few PDW's

A submachine gun (SMG) is an automatic carbine, designed to fire pistol cartridges.- stuff tone of these

Time again for "suggest me a new starter aeg." M4/g36c style perfered, ~$100-200 (lowest but best buy), and finally good fps.
go with the G36C-- they use a better gearbox than M4's, the hop-up is easier to adjust, and the mags are stackable and not very wobbly. Not to mention they're more uncommon than the overused M4 :p JG has a large variety of affordable G36 variants that typically fire in the 370-390 range

I bought this rifle a while back. Its actually surprisingly good for the cost. I would pay $75 for the gun. If you put a decent sight on it I'm sure you can get it grouped within the size of a paper plate at 50 feet. I just had a $10 crosman sight on it, so i couldn't get it grouped quite as well, but it was still pretty good. http://www.amazon.com/Double-Eagle-Airsoft-FPS-200-Folding/dp/B000JIMEKW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1375967139&sr=8-3&keywords=g36+m85

EDIT: How good is this vest? I'm thinking about getting it eventually. http://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Airsoft-Vest-Pistol-Holster/dp/B000NNKBGC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375967344&sr=8-1&keywords=airsoft+vest

EDIT TWO: Zloff, you better run. You have post 666.

Still waiting to order my IKA Zuchi.

For what reason? Just making sure you really want it?

This and the fact I have to get a few more dollars. I'm short by $30

Ah.

Also, take a guess on how much the ghillie hat has cost me. I have no more things to buy for it, just time and effort. Don't count things that you think I already have in my house.

Nothing you said is true, most g36s run version 3 gearbox (Which can be dropped into M4 Bodies as long as you get a wider pistol grip for the motor housing). you can always buy a m4 magwell adapter so it can run m4 mags.

M4's are not over used, the reason so many people run them is not because there cheap, its usually because it's a very reliable platform that takes standard 5.56 magazines. I bet anywhere you run in a big milsim game there will be tones of guys with stanag mags running guns based on the M4 platform just so they can swap mag with other people on the field. Just because it's affordable and shoots a high fps, doesn't mean it's good.

JG makes a few g36s but I would never recommend them, One shoots 380 out of the box, known for faulty trigger connections causing the gun to be unusable. ARES HK g36cv known for having the gimmicky blowback feature to fail and cause gearbox issues. If your going for a g36 style, run it in a m4  platform , such as the ICS G33.

Honestly its stupid when people say the m4 is a bad platform cause its "overused" my mags don't wiggle, shoots 380 fps,and i can and have used other people's mags when i've ran out at milsim games. The Hop up on an m4 is ridiculously easy, I don't get how you can say a g36 is better. all you do is pull back the charging hammer to have the dust cover drop, revealing the hop up chamber, turn the hup up gear clockwise or counter clockwise until it shoots straight. how hard is that?

I'm not trying to pull an "M4 is the master race!" but its more universal then any other gun, your more likely to run into a guy with more AK mags or M14 DMR mags then before you run into a guy with g36, G3, Sten, Box, p90, mp5 or UMP. Its not because there uncommon, its because there impractical with the magazine styles. Also g36 mags tend to cost a lot more money then a STANAG or Banana mag.

Any guesses on the Ghillie hat's cost???

M4's are too generic and boring. Get an M1A1 Thompson.
