my mind knows what would be cool as enemies but right now i'm testing what would be really weird.

"And no one laughed."

sad

I'd chuckle at the sight of a baseball bat with wings

The flower thing is actually really cool
Boss-grade cool

as much as i'd love to help in making enemies for this game i could never copy that color style
that is some badass gradient work

maybe we could post vague shapes in black and white and you could pick and twist them to your liking?
what are the enemies even based on now that i think about it??

What exactly are the cracks in the screen about?

THE ENEMIES ARE JUST THERE
JUST THERE
IUNNO MAN THEY'RE JUST THERE

What exactly are the cracks in the screen about?
I haven't put much thought about it until recently, starting with the Bat, it's going to represent the difficulty of the enemy being fought, and I think it just looks nice.

Now here is one that is pretty cool! Also thank god for reusing old skys.

-YOUTHFUL REBEL-
The Youthful Rebel is a little troublemaker whom is trying his hardest to join a gang. He sports a white shirt, some crunkin' pants, and bright red sneakers. Most notable of his attire is a tie that is lackadaisically placed on his shoulder, and his radical haircut. He sports an imitation katana, and will most likely use the ancient art of cursing to belittle your team's confidence. He is an easy foe, and will probably be one of the few enemies that will shamefully be recolored. But in a cool way in which you hopefully won't be able to tell. Please?

Also now that I look at it again the arm with the sword looks a bit weird. Might go and toy around with that a bit more later.

He looks like an starfish

When i saw the cracks, i thought maybe you could use that for when you're low on health, but on the main screen, that might be obnoxious, so what if each individual character was low on health, their character screens would have several cracks depending how low on health they are?

I wish I could show or make a transition, but I was planning on when you encounter an enemy, the screen cracks and then fades to the battle screen. Below I'm just making it so then whenever a summon dies their screen cracks, and when you lose the message screen cracks. The game will have that one static tv effect, turn off, then say game over. Does sound like a novel idea though, the lower the health the more the cracks. And I could add a thing into the "Chip off the old block" gamemode in which instead of it just being a graphic of a screen, the screen actually breaks. That slot cannot be used, even by summons in the reserve, unless you replace it, either by carrying a spare screen which are expensive or going to a mechanic to fix it. Also I think it'd be cool if mechanics acted as the pokecenter of the game.

oh I thought it was just going to be that you can't use that summon that got defeated again

...but that sounds cool too

oh no if you read a bit back i stated how it's more of a "make the right decision for your team" thing i'm seeing the flaws but i think i'm okay with it that's kinda what you do in any rpg, tough it out

it's going to represent the difficulty of the enemy being fought
that is such an amazing idea oh my god

Which arm crunks to you the most?
