Author Topic: The Forgettable Dungeon: Early Access Release  (Read 424846 times)

Hey guys I'm not dead, I'm finally feeling good enough to work on the game some more.

But circumstances have changed a bit for me, so I'm going to try and get the kickstarter going for the game much sooner than expected. Before September I'm hoping.

That is less than ideal timing but I need to do it.

So what does this mean for you guys?

There's going to be a lot more public testing, I need to widdle down some bugs and make sure things are at least somewhat fun.

Once I get things figured out it's going to be every few days on a set time that works for most people.

I'll be posting updates soon with new features and things so stay tuned.

Rotondo, Have you implemented any easter eggs? Also if you don't want to spoil what the easter eggs are if there are any, I'm fine with a yes or no answer.

There will be eggs, perhaps of the easter variety.

Edit: this is the most text I've ever written without a gif or picture, times are tough :(

you need blockland easter eggs

I am ready as hell for this.

I'm really looking forward to the chance to apply a monetary figure to how much I support you and your game.

I hope we can find a Golden Block item somewhere.
Also a blockhead enemy/miniboss.
And an option for all players and enemies to be Rotondo (This might make for a really confusing/difficult/funny playthrough).

secret blockland adventure mode

Oh hell yeah I'll pay whatever gets me a pre-order. And possibly beta-access.

I can't wait
I'll definitely back the kickstarter

I'm going to try to test the game if I don't forget to check this thread
I really wish I could lend money but I don't have any :c

Public testfire server when

Thanks for all the comments guys, testing will begin once I resolve a few issues.

Also the game got into the Boston FIG indie showcase this year, so if you're in the Boston area around September 12th you should come down.

I didn't want to post another update without some pics so here's some level generation stuff I've been mucking about with.

The end goal here is to add more variety to the look of the dungeon, and also some combat variation instead of just empty rooms.

Edit: I just realized how cool it'd be if you could slightly do damage to the environment like you do to the players. Throwing monsters into the decorations and seeing stuff chip off would be neat.

how about grabbing enemes and throwing/mashing them into walls wrestler-style, and having both the enemy and the wall take damage?

something like this?
