I can do some tricks to get around it since the game is much differently built than blockland, but yeah at max each individual object can have 8 lights, just need to prioritize lights and bake or possibly combine similar lights.

Since I have much fewer objects than blockland I can go through and do rough estimates on which light is lighting which objects, so as long as there's not like 20 lights touching things should be great.

Quote for page loss:

Bump, messed around with implementing a more conventional lighting system.

On a personal note, why do I keep using this color that annoys the gif software lol...

That gives me an idea, you should make a disco rave club dungeon zone.

That would require some good music and ambiance though

hey ive got some spare time what kind of sfx does this game need

it's like 30 seconds in labchirp so don't worry about scale

If I end up fully implementing all the light ideas I have I'll definitely do this, it'd be hilarious as an error handler.

Game loses track of what floor you're on, or you glitch the game out, send them to the disco lol.

Honestly, just some random explosions and shooting sound effects would be neat to hear, or perhaps get some inspiration from.

Also you mentioned a while ago when playing about a certain style sound effect that you thought should be played when the pixel debris bounced off the floor. I never figured out what you meant by that, I'd be interested to hear what you meant.

More random lighting testing.

when you say shooting do you mean 'a gun' or like, firing a bow, firing a staff

also, use a random one of these sounds whenever debris hits the floor, and scale the sound's volume based on how hard the debris is clattering

you might need a sound for when objects youve thrown hit the ground too but i haven't played tfd recently enough to remember if that's already in or not

Also, are you still set on making all the music yourself?

anyway here's a stuff ton of sounds

Good stuff, I'll definitely have to check out that labchirp program.

I've talked to a chiptune artists that I really like a few times about making music for the game, he seems interested in making music for the game but we haven't nailed anything down yet.

While I still plan to do some music, or jingles mainly just because it's fun if he falls through I'm going to have to figure something out.

Edit: Kind of glad it was cold and snowy out today, got super sidetracked and made this,

knowing the forums as it is, im pretty sure a number of people would be willing to help out. a short browse through creativity can bring up a number of individuals talented/skilled enough to put together a nice tune.

okay wow that is the bets camera angle ever 10/10 would rate again

Though I was serious about the disco rave zone, I got the idea from the area of a game called Towerclimb, the area is called Club Z : https://youtu.be/4GYA_L_BVB4?t=58m5s <video is a attempt to beat the game, since the game isn't easy at all.

Did I forget to mention the two guys who made the game also composed its amazing sountrack?

Yeah, that's definitely a good backup plan.

That is pretty neat, the guys who make tower climb are super talented.

Mostly did bug fixes tonight, but also messed around with spotlights:

More progress on new lighting system, got it successfully binding to the in game lights.

These screenshots were when it was still spazzing out randomly because the render state was screwed up, which caused some weirdness.

This is one after I fixed the render state, kind of weird one since I was testing stuff.

Lots of tweaking to do, and specular or something is messed up on the dungeon tiles but it's good progress.
