Style, and solid protection for any massive guns you may put inside. I prefer spinal weapons, probably because I never built ships on that scale when I played.

The gun isn't a turret, it's literally part of the hull. It can only be aimed by moving THE ENTIRE SHIP

yeah fixed guns

even battleships and submarines today have fixed torcreep launchers mounted on their hulls, it makes sense too because you can maintain the working parts of the guns without the crew having to leave the ship as you would have to do with turret mounted guns.

if the gun runs the entire length of the ship for power, that's kind of the point

there's kind of an awe factor with staring down a really loving big ship as it turns to face you before loading your face full of antimatter andor rockets

iirc schema said he was planning to make it so you can only move 50% speed on any axis other than forward
