I just bought New Leaf, the mission to get the down payment is really slow for me. The kid wont sell a bug catcher when I need one.

You can also use a shovel to gain money. You can also just sell fruit. You can even pluck flowers from the ground and sell those, but they are really dirt cheap so it's not recommended.

The highest HHA rating I've seen via streetpass or whatever is 702,000 or 720,000 somewhere around there ;o
