Author Topic: My dog is a badass  (Read 3805 times)

This topic is really late, but I hesitated to make it for a while. Basically as some of you may know from a topic I made a while ago, my roosterapoo dog got attacked by two huge untrained dogs while trying to go to the bathroom and was practically torn open. He fought back, but it didn't do much.

My sister and dad heard yelping and ran outside to yell the dogs away and found my dog. My dad immediately rushed my dog to the nearest vet which couldn't do anything but give him enough medicine to last until he got to a pet hospital. By then he was in shock and near death with punctured lungs, crushed ribs, a dislocated leg, and many other wounds.

The hospital took him in, bandaged him up, and put him in a pretty large crate. The vets said they were hoping he would be able to survive overnight, but the chances were pretty unlikely. Of course this topic would be pretty awkward if my dog didn't survive.

From there on it was kind of a waiting game to see if he held out through a couple emergency surgeries, about 4 or more vital surgeries, one of them involving them cutting off a part of his leg bone to get it back in the right place. Keep in mind my dog was 9 at the time, and though roosterapoos live pretty long, we were debating at first whether to put him down or not. We decided against it, and my dog went on to survive all of the surgeries and make a complete recovery.

The thing is it cost around $10,000.

We sued the stuff out of the owners of the 2 dogs, and though we still haven't really gotten the money from them yet, we won in court. I kind of feel bad for their dogs because now they're just tied on a short rope outside all day, rather than a fence or electric fence or something.

Long story short, my dog survived against ridiculous odds and is now almost fully recovered.
Here's a picture of him I just now took with my stuffty webcam:

Hope you get the money soon.

My dog was cornered under my porch my 3 or 4 of my neighbors pitbulls. He only got a pretty beat up leg from it. Nothing too bad though.

And your dogs eye looks crazy haha

It was probably because he was just sleeping, it usually looks like that for a while after sleeping

$10000... I would have put it down

I remember when my toy poodle got attacked.

crazy man i wouldn't want to lose a fluffy little guy like that either
how much does your family expect to win

Ten loving thousand dollars?
Jesus, i know it is your pet, but damn, that is a lot of money.
Now i hope the dog doesn't live in pain after the whole surgery thing..

If my cat would have to be operated with such huge costs, i would put her down.
The risks not only of her surviving and maybe of the pain afterwards would be just too big.
Might sound like i treat my pet like a piece of furniture or something, but damn, such a huge sum of money for a pet that might just die naturally in a couple of years.
I would seriously consider putting her down.

Good to hear your dog is badass and i hope he will live on for many more years to come without pain. :)

So like how much did you sue them for? Hopefully a reasonable amount and not something stupid like a billion bucks

The money situation is actually more stuffty than I thought, we have gotten no money from them and we were supposed to get $5000.

From them both?

Really? You'd think that they would have to pay the entire amount due for the medical bills, not just half. Was the family having financial problems?
