Kestrel acts pretty weird after this update.
The charge attack (throwing it) is still there, but it only works when I have my Primary or secondary out.
when I have my Kestrel out I can't perform the charge attack.
also I hope they add a charge speed increase mod again but for thrown weps only cause kestrel charges SOOOOOO SLOOOOW.
You can still throw the Kestrel when you have it selected, but it's somewhat cumbersome to do at the moment. Currently, you have to do at least one normal slash before it will let you charge it.
The cumbersome bit is that you can't just hold the E key down, you have to quickly tap and release the key, and
then hold it down. If you get the timing wrong, you'll probably just do another standard melee slash. It's not terrible once you get the hang of it.
Fortunately the lead animations dev said they plan to change this so that you can throw glaive weapons without doing a normal slash first. He didn't give any ETA on that, though. :(
Also, they increase the charge speed of glaive-like weapons in hotfix 12.0.3. The new speed seems about right, and it even seems to be effected by attack rate mods, which is pretty awesome.
Oh, and glaive weapons will actually create an explosion
on their final bounce now(EDIT: Actually this might only happen with Power Throw or possibly Quick Return equipped. Must test...), and if you hit the energy channel key while the weapon is in-flight, it will explode early.
