$1 USD =/= $1 AUD
$1 USD = $1.24 AUD
$60 USD ≈ $75 AUD
I believe they might have factored in shipping costs and rating costs (you have to pay to get your game rated by the Government before you're allowed to sell it, hence why many of indies aren't selling their games).

I hope the cost goes down, but I won't know for a month or so. We shall see.

Can you please stop?

I'm telling him why I want to wait for a discount, since I doubt most people over in America are concerned with Australian game prices.

I would like to buy the game, when I feel I can purchase it at an appropriate price. I've made it quite clear I want to buy the game. You don't need to tell me how I should spend my money or not.
you kept sounding like one of those steam discussion rockstar boycotts, i thought you were complaining about it but wasnt buying the game
my apologies

Nah, boycotts are ridiculous and don't work. Besides, GTA V's gameplay is at least decent, and I expect the story should be alright, and I'll like to try it out. I loved GTA IV for quite a while, and I hyped up GTA V way back when I was in High School.

neat
are they still releasing this? i am afraid that they're going to never release it ;-; (GTA V for PC)

I'm going to be more optimistic and say this is the final delay.

The (potential) reasons they have delayed it a second/third time:

  • Because it's not ready to be released; either because of bugs, or because the game has only just gone gold and they need time to print the retail discs.
  • Because Take-Two/Rockstar's fiscal year ends soon after the 27th, and the new one begins shortly before the current release date (in other words, they want to have massive profit next fiscal year and/or avoid tax on this fiscal year).
  • They want to push Heists on console first, as a last ditch effort to make sure that as many console players as possible buy those GTA V in-game money cards, since it's unlikely PC gamers will need the cards what with the ability to mod.
  • They want to directly compete with sales of Bloodbourne, which releases on exactly the same day as the new release date.

they wouldn't cancel the release though, would they?

Unless if a Red Dead Redemption happens, I seriously doubt they'd completely cancel it. They want the profit badly in the next quarter.

but i mean they already confirmed the release to pc users, they wouldn't cancel it now would they?

because they rush it out when its not complete

Honest to god would rather them just release it then a fix patch every once in a while over delaying it another 2 months 13 days before we were supposed to get it. The 'thoroughness' excuse worked before they pushed it back 3 loving times.

considering you've referenced it at least three(?) times in this thread, I'd like to know the whole story of "Red Dead got deleted." tbh, it sounds pretty nuts to an outsider like me, so i'd love to be informed about the whole fiasco.

May I remind everyone of also what's expected to come to Heists?

A possibility of 7 heists coming out on day one. Possibly a few new weapons and weapon mods. Possible new vehicle mods. Four new vehicles (featuring the Karuma from GTA3)
A really big content update for when Heists come out, also including the updates between then and now.

I spent all of 5 minutes (since I'm watching Game of Thrones) looking for a source, and I gave up. Most of it has been buried with all the "A PC Port Will Eventually Arrive!" stuff that Kotaku and the like try to spread.

There's two sides to the rumour of the RDR port:

A) The one I'm more trusting of which I read a long time ago in multiple sources was that the Rockstar department handling the PC port of RDR suffered either a flood or power loss or something, and at the time they were not keeping adequate backups. They lost a significant amount of files, if not all of them, and so Rockstar decided to cut their loses and cancel the port.
B) One other rumour I've heard (which does make more sense, but I only heard it from people I don't trust) is that when Rockstar first started porting, they found the source code to be "too much of a mess", and so they ultimately had to give up. I'm guessing originally Rockstar tied a lot of stuff to console-specific functions, and also made a lot of redundant calls and weird functions which made the code very complex. Who knows.

Games don't usually go up for pre order this early, not on steam.
