It's EXTREMELY expensive and honestly not worth the base cost;

  • Right out the gate, you're going to need $3M to play with the stufftiest garage, the stufftiest car warehouse and purchase some stock. I may even be understating the cost here.
  • If you have all associate slots filled, you can sell a maximum of 4 cars at a time. There's also a cool-down after the sale that goes for quite a long time.
  • Associate Pay has not been increased since the original Finance update. Your friends will make an additional $500 every ~20 minutes, and if they leave the session or get fired, that pay counter is reset, and if you die then a large sum is taken off their salary. It's abysmal to be an Associate.
  • You'll be making somewhere around $400k for a full sale with no damage (cars take damage and will reduce price) assuming you sell a full set with bonus, and that doesn't count the money you need to pay to mod the cars to the client's demands.
  • Special Vehicles can get heafty $1M+ discounts, but only if you complete the Special Contact missions, which IIRC are locked to how many cars are in your Executive Garage.
  • You can now customise your player's physical appearance, for a whopping $100,000.
  • There's a new Shark Card option in the Online menu for when you need that cash injection :^)

That said, the $5M car that fires rockets is loving awesome, and then the trucks which have ramps/cattle catchers are also pretty damn awesome AND you can store them in your Executive Garage without needing to call Pegasus.

Unfortunately, the price is not worth it unless you've exploited the game for billions...

Now this is going to be useful..

i already got 3 cars from the update lol

the penetrator (the red car) is my favorite one so far

So another great content update that I won't get to enjoy because it's behind billions of dollars I'll never receive in a lifetime?
Oh, sure, I'll just play the last heist a couple bajillion times so I can afford the cheapest stuff.

Honestly, forget whoever's decision it was to make Shark Cards a thing, because I doubt the game'd be so expensive if they didn't have them.

Is it too late to buy the game if I'm not gonna do any microtransactions to boost progress in online? I don't know if they've revealed the next game yet or what the release pattern is so I don't want to buy the game and only have the worst cars when gta 6 comes out.

A) The really slow, cheap "super" cars (race me, bitch)
B) Not the really amazing Warstock & Carry special vehicles (like the ramp truck or the rocket car)
C) Not in your Executive Garage, you poor poor chump :^)

Well I mean, it depends on what you want to get out of it? If you just want to play for fun and get whatever you get, then you're all set to go. If you're intent on unlocking everything, it's going to take you months of grinding to get the ranks and cash to buy the best stuff.

I would mostly be for fun but I want a pretty big collection of customized cars

I don't really care that GTA Online's DLC content is getting progressively more and more expensive considering they're STILL shelling out tons of fun content updates for 'free' even if it is at the cost of your time

$5 million dollars is seriously not an impossible goal at all. Drug and CEO work will get you there in honestly 4-6 days of on-off grinding

Well, you can steal cars for free that are under the value of $40k, but the mods and the garages (10 car garages) are hella expensive.

Completely unexceptable for a full-time worker.

My definition of 'fun' does not include 'grinding.'
Well, depending on which grinding..

Completely unexceptable for a full-time worker.

If you don't have time (or if you simply don't want to @arekan) to play the game then that's what the shark cards are for

This, the problem about it is that if you can't buy shark cards, be ready for a long, tedious and repetitive grind doing the same missions over and over to get enough money you need.

shark cards are robbery

Don't contribute to the corporate machine, don't use banks and bury gold bars

Shark cards are pretty bad. The base price for the stufftiest stuff in this DLC is about 3mil? Get ready to shovel another $60 into the game (or $40 if it's on sale.) if you want that and just a liiiittle bit extra. Go ahead n' pay a hundred dollars for 8 mil, and then you'll probably be able to get a fair portion of the new content, but not all. (At least, that's how it was with the yacht update.)

It's extremely ridiculous and a really disgusting business model in my eyes. I really hope the next GTA doesn't continue on this evolutionary track. I paid for the game, and okay, maybe $30 for DLC is comparatively tame for modern day tastes.. but paying about a hundred dollars for multiple DLCs and then not even getting everything in it?
