Author Topic: What would be a video game that you would make?  (Read 4811 times)

Talk about video games that you would make if you were an indie dev or something.
And you don't have to worry about money/copyrights/restrictions to anything.

Me, I would make:

A COD-styled game, but you level up rapidly, and by the end of a round, you could be level 50 and have all the gun unlocks and stuff. And it resets after each round. So everyone starts at level 1.

TF2, but as a real-time strategy game.
FUN FACT: It was actually planned to be something like this in the early development of TF2.
2 players telling the classes on the ground where to attack and defend and stuff.
And it would have an option for them to have hats and non-default weapons.
And it would also have an option for them to do the objective themselves.
And it would also also have an option to be able to play as one of them on the ground.
So it's TF2, but slightly different. And I would like it.

Anyway forums, tell us what you would make.

High-speed futuristic racing game, reminiscent of F-Zero. I would've done this already, but it's not exactly easily accomplished with something like love2d.

EDIT: Drinking game: drink on every post with the aim of a first-person shooter.

Honestly, a Light-Gun Rail-Shooter (think House of the Dead) based mod for Source.

I'll have an option to skip most of the beginning of Half Life 2 if they want to get straight to the action.

a half-life 2 style physics first-person shooter puzzle adventure action multiple endings sandbox online game

Shadow of the Colossus with more colossi

A few roaming 3rdPS. Taking the idea of GTA or Just Cause and making it modern day 3rdPS

A Medieval Fantasy GTA styled game.

Trackmania2 Lunar or something like that

It's Trackmania2 but all the courses are on the moon or in a giant space station.

A improved version of Ace of Spades on the future.

You can call Aid such as bombardment, airdropped vehicles, ammo...

Stabilish firebases on the map, placing Tank Traps, HMGs, sand bags, trechs, reinforcing buildings, barbed wires, etc...

Drive tanks, star ships and mechs.

25 Dollars plz because if its free, I would need to add a "premium feature", its like the overpowered Robux.

Why would you? Games used to be free.

a game sorta like S4 but instead of normal weapons you would use esper powers

and it would be tf2-style f2p

a single-player third person shooter in which you control a character who is the backflippinest pistolwhippenest motherforgeter to ever live and every level is basically him running through a fairly large and pretty world and performing sweet acrobatics and occasionally gunplay to get from point A to point B with as much emphasis on moving extremely quickly and keeping momentum as there is just shooting dudes

admittedly, the concept is sort of like shadow the hedgehog but not stuff, but it's more inspired by gunz or s4 league except not stuff

I have already got an idea.

It's called "Paradise" and there's two ways of looking at it that I see.

First one goes;
I would set it up like an old video-game, it'd be top-down. Everyone starts out was a "TOURIST".
Once you have explored all of the map or gone to places that are not touristy (ranks will come soon), you become a CITIZEN.
When you commit a crime, you become a CRIMINAL.
When you try to attack someone who commits a crime, you become a POLICEMAN.
If and when you never become a "CITIZEN" rank, you will stay as a Tourist, and you are more vulnerable.
The map will not be open to you as a tourist, but 5 people have to stay at one "area unlocker" and then the rest of the area will be unlocked for exploration.
When everyone except two people are dead, the island is CONDEMNED and when the two people get in the same two areas, they become the only accessible areas.
No way to run.

Number two goes like this;
It's like Idea #1 but a little more added, less simple. You would have to factor in things like SHAME, UNDERGROUND-NESS, EXPLORATION. Shame would limit you from doing certain things - catering to your needs like HUNGER, EXCRETION, SLEEP. When your SHAME level is high, you can't do those things. When it is low, you can do those things, but you will fall into a different rank (either SHAMELESS or) Homeless. As Homeless, you can only get money from other people, either have them give it to you or you commit crimes and become a criminal. When UNDERGROUND level is high, you know the best places to hide and can hide in better places, and you know places to go to to fill needs and become more of a "CITIZEN" rank than a TOURIST. This rank only exists for tourists and it is the way you get to CITIZEN. the rank unlocks after you get UNDERGROUND level past 20, you start at 0. Then the EXPLORATION rank lets you unlock all places by going to different UNDERGROUND places. You need UNDERGROUND and EXPLORATION ranks to be even.

idk. i thought of this while i was falling asleep.

A 32-bit pixel RPG where you start on an elevator, pick your class, and start from the first floor.

Each floor is randomly generated with different monsters and different sizes each time.

When you die you lose some of your money/earnings and have to start on the first floor, unless you have enough credits to restart where you died.

All of the weapons would be randomly generated and include categories such as: guns, swords, throw weapons, etc.

There are multiple towers that you have to defeat, and each one is harder and 50 more floors than the last.

You can save at any point in the game, but if you die you can't restart there.

You can choose multiplayer or singleplayer for every floor.

3 ideas:
  • A 3D randomly-generated Zelda like game, similar to Binding of Isaac as well.
  • A collectathon like Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, with both linear and open levels.
  • A sandbox game a lot like LittleBigPlanet, but when the option for 3D or 2D. No story mode, but you can create your own content and mods and upload them to the Steam workshop. You can use non-textured .obj's or black-and-white .png's for brushes, or you can assign textures and colors to in-game materials, to use Blender or an image editor as the level creator (of/c, there would be one in-game too.) The focus of the game would be the Steam Workshop, where you can get new brushes, materials, weapons, gadgets, as well as levels and objects. The result would be a very open-ended, user-created game similar to Blockland, GMod, and LBP.
