Man, if Divekick isn't at EVO next year I'll be so peeved. I might even have to say I'd be salty.
>the skullgirls and ssbb incident

Wasn't there this one group of people wanting that MLP fighting game to be added to the tourney?
the project got literally murdered by hasbro, also i never heard of people wanting it on evo

i still dont get it lol. i mean sure maybe its fun but honestly this could be made as like any other flash game and be played for free. i wouldnt be surprised if there was already a game exactly like it honestly. it doesnt really seem "more advanced" because they took away every feature besides like two attacks. thats like making a new CoD game but only having one sniper rifle, bumping up the price and saying it requires more skill and is more advanced then all the others.

seems like a whole bunch of hardcore gaming nerds making a big deal over nothing imo
Then Divekick is not right for you and it's probably not worth your time.

That's all. You don't need to try to convince yourself it is.

The thing is... Divekick's developers have never said Divekick is more advanced than anything. It's also pretty fairly priced. I believe it's the cheapest fighter on steam?
The mechanics may revolve around being simplistic but that doesn't mean gameplay is any gimped.

A bit of backstory: the game started out as a joke but the fighting games scene loved it so much they fleshed it out into an actual game. It's slightly satire and is actually really good. It references and jokes around about other fighting games.

It's simple but sometimes simple is good.

it sounds fun but if there's no demo i'm not going to risk spending $10

Actually, Lab Zero allowed the MLP fighting game to use their engine after the Skullgirls achieved a hella huge success on Kickstarter for additional characters. Also, said MLP fighting game is(was? HAven't read up much for it) decided to replace all the MLP art assets with their own original designs to get around said copyright. Not sure how it's going so far nor people wanting it on EVO.

i actually love this game and was worth my $10
baz ftw

alright so i see the appeal in this game, but i would not pay $10 for it
it's literally a game that i'd think i could find on newgrounds
