jorgurs is a prime example of 20 minutes
if you're not flying a crap-handling stunt plane you're driving for a couple hours in a jeep

second para is just silly lol

and im fairly sure terrain is a pretty easy excuse for laziness as your old tdms and all that crap were literally like boxes on opposite ends and weren't really fun except for the short combat sequences followed by a long haul back...
id much rather be dying every few seconds and still getting in the action then periodic and monotonous sequences of nothing happening... lol
you aren't stuck driving for "hours". you're probably stuck driving a minute at most. But saying "you have to drive a whole MINUTE to reach the enemy" sure doesn't sound as convincing as "A TDM where you can finish a full course meal before any combat dares show it's face". It's ok, I understand.

Maybe you like TDMs where you run straight at the enemy, die, and respawn to do it again. Maybe other people like TDMs where you have to transport yourselves to a destination, and fights occur in skirmishes. People like different types of servers. and the stunt plane doesn't have crap handling, maybe you're just bad at using it. There are plenty of people who actually know how to fly like lalam and ephi. The planes at jorgurs were fine, and there were air vehicles at my TDM as well (as well as teleports so you don't have to drive OR fly!!)

If I built all that terrain by hand, would it be better? Would you knowing that I slaved for hours on a tedious and over-difficult task make it better? You seem to care too much about whether or not it's built by hand or not. it's not any different than using a couple of default saves to play on for some quick fun.

Heed, I'd like to add in that I love TDM's where you get to fly/drive to your destination, it puts much more thrill into the game. Quick-paced TDM's aren't my favorite.

Also guys it's still possible to make many things, but many of you just don't want to because it's harder to build by each block.

I hate the way helicopters work in this game though, they are so unmanagable to me.

if by one minute you mean THREE YEARS

I used to think that, but I got used to some of the rather weird vehicle physics, and I like them.
I love driving helicopters and planes on Blockland.

Honestly, I would rather have terrain.

Quick TDMs aren't my favorite.

Honestly the removal of terrain is good because people would now need more effort for their builds.

...Wait? People are using buildbots and stuff? Well forget me!

Do you gain some sort of sick loveual pleasure knowing somebody spent hours on the terrain you're walking on?

pervert

i hate traveling to an enemy base. the entire match is made up on travel time...

if its out of view, its to far.

its made me a much better builder and i know a lot of people that have become better builders because theyre working on stuff that terrain would have filled before. its not to say that terrain being removed is the only cause of this but its certainly a factor.

Absolutely this. It's unbelievably frustrating to fly hundreds of miles and then just get shot out of the sky by an artillery cannon, it's also incredibly boring.

not the maps fault that you're a crap tier pilot that flies right into a cannon. ur right maybe big tdms arent your thing

It has, but it's not v21's fault, it's lazy handicaps who can't build or appreciate good servers' fault.

took it too literally

When the bases are closer together, the dogfights get much more hectic, as does the combat, and the general gameplay gets much more fun. When the bases are far away, you get new players not knowing where the hell to go and hogging all the planes flying infinitely in the wrong direction.

It's like, fly 100 miles, shoot 5 guys, get killed. Fly 100 miles, shoot 5 guys, get killed. You spend more time going to the combat than in the actual combat. It's nothing to do with skill as it is the mechanics are undeniably boring and broken.

Besides, you don't even need terrain to make the bases far away. That's why we have 64x64 terrain bricks.

btw, your 'dogfights' are literally just TDM's with stunt-planes.

find me a TDM i've made where i've called it a dogfight. they've all been called "Slopes TDM" "TDM!!" "Buildland TDM" "Winter TDM". nice try bringing up some kind of stuffty point that doesnt even hold true. might wanna try a bit harder next time  :cookieMonster:
