Do you really make a proper "salary" out of it? I mean, not many skins are sold outside of market, and i doubt many people are willing to buy skins using real money transactions

There is a website called OPSkins in which people can sell skins and transfer the money to a paypal account.

...worth a couple hundred USD
I mean he has 100K i don't think it would make a difference.

It really does make a difference. Unless you know the people personally and are on an intimate relation with the person, you shouldn't be asking jack stuff of anyone. It's petty. If I had that kind of inventory, the only people I'd be willing to hand out a knife or something to are friends I know irl that play CSGO at least frequently.

"yeah can I have $300 just because?"

no, he isn't a charity

Simon motheloving Viklund is making a music kit for CSGO

Ffs its a friggin video game.  You know, it pisses me off when people who play CSGO are extremely exclusive about their inventory.  I understand that csgo isn't one giant donation center and that i am probably just butt hurt over the fact that i can't get a knife.  But, i mean come one its a video game.  I saw this streamer once where he had an assimov where the scope was completely black, and he said "i think i have to go get this appraised".  I cringed so hard on the stupidity of that.  ITS A MOTHERF****** VIDEOGAME.  Also, why do you need 100K worth of stuff for a video game just WHY??? I understand that you can sell it, but i don't see that happening.  Let me just play the jackpot and win something... OH WOW! I won 500 let me just horde this for a long time and do nothing with it, and maybe i can play again and do the same thing!  So, i really don't see why everyone is so exclusive about asking for something when you have 300 of them.

I had to get that out of my system.

Holy stuff you have to be like 10, classic "I can't have it so it must be your fault" and blame game that unreasonable children seem to do. Yeah. It's a video game. But it's also a hobby. People collect expensive stuff that's not really useful but for the sake of their own interest they enjoy collecting. Just because someone won't give you something that's literally worth hundreds of dollars, with no guarantee that you don't just turn it around for an actual cash profit, doesn't mean you can go and be autistic about it. More than likely, these people worked hard to collect their inventory, and aren't ready to just give handouts to ungrateful spergs like you.

it baffles me that you aren't wrapping your head around the fact that the skins are worth quite a lot, they might as well just hand you a stack of cash for no reason

the "its just a game" argument makes no sense because these items can be traded for real money, or just sold on the steam market and used to purchase games. the point of people collecting and trading skins is to earn money

side note:
Let me just play the jackpot and win something... OH WOW! I won 500 let me just horde this for a long time and do nothing with it

people that earn money through gambling can burn in hell

people that earn money through gambling can burn in hell

But that's literally opening cases, what's wrong with that?

But that's literally opening cases, what's wrong with that?

I don't mean cases, since those cost keys and crates and are a part of the games marketing model, I mean things like betting on CSGO lounge or jackpots

jackpots are especially horrible because people with expensive stuff get higher odds, completely stomping any competition. its entirely unfair whereas crate unboxings have rarity tiers which mean that anyone that opens a crate has an equal chance of getting any of the skins compared to someone else

crates have the element of risk / reward but its your own, its not gaining from other peoples loss

edit: I called cases crates halfway through whoops. TF2 is getting to me

there are plenty of videos of people putting down thousands on jackpot with high odds and losing lol
