Buying this game soon, any tips?

Buying this game soon, any tips?
Yes:
1. Don't smurf, noone likes them
2. Good luck with becoming ranked if you have never played before
3. Don't treat the skins as a job, meaning dont go around hoarding skins
4. Please for the love of God make sure you have a mic, you will most likely lose if you or your team doesn't have a mic; and yes there is teamchat and global chat ("U" is default team chat and "Y" is global chat, "K" is default push to talk button)
5. Play Dust II as a starting map
6. Have fun, and again, if you end up in silver don't listen to the people that make fun of you because you are in silver, you are doing the best you can and silvers are not all that bad.
7. Don't get mad at your team, it makes the chemistry between your team bad and you will most likely do bad
8. Don't open cases if you feel unlucky, buy the skins yourself and possibly save some money
9. Don't pull what i did and complain about CSGO in the forum topic
10. Some common abbreviations: GLHF (Good Luck Have Fun, often said at the beginning of the game when the countdown is ending and you cant move, some people like to say Good luck have fries or Good Luck Have lunch or combine them to say Good Lunch Have Fries) GH (Good Half, often said at half time if your team and the other team isn't salty) GG (Good Game) and VAC (Valve Anti Cheat, often used when you see someone obviously hacking, just make sure it isn't a smurf first, they like to ruin the experience for new players)
11. Just have fun, many times, you are actually on the smurfs team and they will carry you, but other times there aren't any smurfs and its fun.  So GLHF dude!

Also, there are other fun servers like jailbreak and Zombie escape, those are pretty fun oh and minigame servers as well as Surfing servers.

silvers are not all that bad.

They are at the bottom of the ranking bracket for a reason.

I started seeing less smurfs when I ranked up to LE

now I see hackers

spinbots why

I know, hes new to the game and i am not trying to make himself feel bad for being a silver.  I mean if i heard that if i end up in silver because i just started playing a game and i learned that silver is the worst rank, i would never have played the game.

I'd imagine smurfing would be hard to do when you're at the top ranks.
Hackers, though. . .
Haven't seen many.

... What? Being silver is part of the process. I was never a silver, but many people were. It's not something that you can necessarily avoid. The learning curve to this game is so gigantic that it's almost expected.

I don't think I've seen any hackers. I suspected a teammate to be hacking recently though because he would make calls that were on the other side of the map before they happened with 100% accuracy. He was sketchy af and the next game I played with someone who was on the enemy team and he mentioned how sketchy the guy was.

I never said it wasn't, all i said was that silver are not all that bad, and then Shadow says that they are at the bottom of the ranking system for a reason, i didn't say anything about them being bad.

look up tutorials from 3kliksphilip and warowl; such as learning how to spray, crosshair customizer, aim practice, graphic settings etc
It is recommended you play with friends.
Also smurfing (or pretending to be bad but being good) isn't too bad, people that whine about are annoying as stuff, only time they are bad is when they derank and they're smurfs
The competitive community can be cancerous but remember that's the only part that is, you can meet people on surf servers and stuff to be on your team.
