Here are some tips, but take these with a grain of salt as I'm only Nova 3-4

  • prefire common camping area if you have the ammunition. this might take up sometime but it's better to be sure than sorry. imagine where his head will be and wall bang there.
  • never, never pull out a grenade when you were just engaged in close combat with someone and are alone. if you absolutely need to throw a grenade fall back to a safe position and do so from there
  • don't "learn" to use lots of guns. the only guns you will ever really need to know how to use are the starting pistols, the p250, the 57, the ump-45, all four assault rifles, and the awp. the alternatives to any of these weapons are worse and more expensive, the ump is the best SMG in the game despite being the second cheapest, the scout, shotguns, machine guns, and Deagle are all pretty much situational weapons, and if you know how to use an assault rifle even a FAMAS will beat a p90 at close range.

sometimes if you run out of ammo and/or know you will die when the enemy is close, pulling the pin and running towards your enemy isn't a horrible idea (assuming you aren't the last alive)

- Kill enemies before attempting to diffuse the bomb.

actually if you are low on time/don't know where the enemy is hiding, fake defuse for a second to draw them out and force a peek in most cases, knowing how to do this right usually helps win a lot of CT rounds

I have to disagree with this. I've found myself in many situations where I was stuck with a gun off the ground as the last player left. Players use unique guns, learning how to at least control them is useful. I know I've saved a few rounds picking up an AUG or using the Bizon (seriously, who even uses this?).

It certainly doesn't hurt to learn them at the very least. I'm speaking from personal experience here, so it might not work for the same for everyone.

um bizon is gooood..

budget gun: mac10/mp9
surplus gun: aug/sg 553
last round gun: awp
pistol: glock/five-seven
shotgun: nova (i know it sucks)

what are yours?

the burst fire on the glock is 2gud for pistol rounds

i don't use burst fire
but i am in love with glock

burst fire on glock is stuff

burst fire on glock is stuff

??

I seem to do great with it

at long ranges I don't use it though

IMO its only good if you can guarantee the hit at very close range. Like if you were T on militia and went into vent and camped up the ladder, you could use burstfire. Or maybe on top of the boxes next to tunnels on dust2. Even then I would use anything but my glock.

budget gun: bizon (it's like a mini awpnegev, good against unarmored if you win pistol round) or p90
surplus gun: AK47 or M4A1-S, occasionally SG/AUG
last round gun: usually the same, negev for stuffs and giggles, or a scoped wep
pistol: p250, five-seven, tec9, glock
shotgun: mag7 or sawed off

you know how i know you're gn1?

>p90 as a budget gun
it costs more than a loving famas and it's worse to boot

because beyond panic situations, you won't be using the glock past the pistol round and it takes two headshots (ONLY from 100hp/no helmet) to kill someone with it. you're wasting a shot that you don't need to use.

well p90 is very situational. i dont buy it if i think a bizon is more suited for the job, if not the bizon then i'll just save outright. but if i buy the p90 i rush.
also i see no use for famas over p90. to each their own.

fixed

-$100 cost
much more accurate at all ranges
easier recoil control (though a bit harder than the M4)
pretty sure the reload is slightly faster

granted, you'd only buy a FAMAS if and only if you can't afford an M4
