Author Topic: Roblox is Dead  (Read 72427 times)

The whole 12 and up community has left because of the creators turning it into a ids game. Although they never were any compitition, now it is a kids game.

Lets hope they don't move to Lego Universe when its out, I wanna have fun plang it.

I counted 278 people online. How is that dead?

Lego universe seems to be lacking though. Great graphics ability to build with every Lego piece ever made no lag and explore the cities. But it doesn't seem like it'll have any platforming or action elements besides fighting Darklings. The whole reason i love blockland is because of the possibility to add other game elements to it a few reasons you would do this:
1. New gameplay possibilities.
2. the game may be on a system you can't afford like the $400 ps3.
3. Blockland is very very easy to modify compared to other games.
4. You might just want your favorite game to be in Blocko.

Ive never really tried RoBlox. I know this might be bad to say, but I might try it, just to actually take part in these debates.

I agree trying it now, so far it looks like one of those games that makes you use real money.

A few things about LEGO Universe.

1. It's still WIP, so it's all new. There is no old version of LEGO Universe. Everything but the community of stupid 7 year olds is new.
2. It's on the PC. Anyone who can get on LEGO.com and has an OK computer can use it.
3. Yes, Blockland is easy to mod. Unfortunately, not for stupid 7 year olds. They can't even figure out how to use the task manager properly.
4. True. Besides, I have real life LEGOs. Those are good enough.

Its kinda fun with physics but otherwise, it is bad.

Things I like about RoBlox
The Physics
The way of building ladders, killable blocks, ect
Ease of making costom games such as obstacle courses.
Non-Lag

Things I hate
The Minifigs
The fact that when you press D or A you person arcs in that direction instead of moving to it
Non-User friendly GUI
Un-social community
HORRIBLE CONTROLS HELP

I would have to disagree.
It lags like hell, and my computer is pretty decent.

Just want to remind those of you anticipating Lego Universe's release that it is a video game made by the Lego Company.

What does this mean you say?

Well...I'm not sure if you have ever tried the games on Lego.com but if they are any indicator of what the future holds, you can bet your onions that Universe will only have pre-made chat options and at best highly filtered chat (ala Runescape but with more national socialist and a little less gay)

I can't really think of anything that LEGO could add to their upcoming game that would defeat Blockland other than pure nostalgia from regular Lego bricks/ themes.

As for Roblox...it may be dead but I would argue that it never really lived. I tried it and was severely dissapointed. The controls were terrible, the browser based server network was difficult to navigate and everything seemed to only be available for members (now where have I seen that before...). The physics afforded a brief 'hit' of excitement but only served to further my annoyance at the dubious control scheme. Talking in chat proved useless as everyone seemed to be logged into some kind of alternate chat channel were supposably great adventures were to be had. At best I received a "screw you" response to my indignant requests for help in an exceedingly complex game.

Hearing of Roblox's death is like hearing of a whale dying. More specifically, a toxic waste-spewing, fire breathing, baby-eating, loose-cannon whale with a lethal desire for wealth and a small school of cleaner fish sucking what little nourishment there is to derive from it with little regard for their own health or pleasure.

tl:dr  who cares?
